The Cedarwood tree, Cedrus atlantica, originates in Morocco and in the USA.  This tree is the closest know relative to the cedars of Lebanon that are mentioned many times in the bible.  The essential oil Cedarwood is derived from the bark of the tree by a process of steam distillation.  Throughout history cedarwood oil has been used medicinally and even for embalming in ancient Egypt.

Cedarwood oil has very distinct medical properties.  This oil can combat hair loss by promoting hair growth.  It is also known to be antibacterial and a lymphatic stimulant.  Your lymphatic system carries fluids throughout the body that fight illness and disease, in a sense detoxifying your body from harmful things.  It is also an expectorant and mucolytic.

Cedarwood oil uses include:

  Diffuse or inhale directly from the bottle.  The fragrance of cedarwood oil stimulates the limbic system in the brain, or the center of emotions.  It also stimulates the pineal gland in the brain which can help your body produce more melatonin to help with peaceful calm sleep.  In a study done by Terry Friedmann, MD clinical testing showed that this oil can help treat patients with ADD and ADHD. It has a calming effect. You can also put it on cotton balls and stick them in the vents in your vehicle to promote a healthy respiratory system.

• Topically-

  You can apply the oil topically to vita flex points or chakras to promote peace and calm to the areas of your body that need it the most.  You can also apply it on location for skin issues such as eczema.  You can mix a few drops into your shampoo to promote hair strength and growth and to also combat dry itchy scalp.

• Internally-

  You can take this oil internally if you choose to as a dietary supplement.

Leviticus 14:4-

Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

Leviticus 14:6-

As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:
