Essential Oil Copaiba- The Magnifying Oil
I use the essential oil copaiba quite frequently. Â Not only does it magnify other oils, I most recently used it for respiratory issues. Â I had a lot of residual mucus buildup in my chest from a sinus infection and I put a few drops on some cotton balls and stuck them in the air vents in my car. Â It was a mini aromatherapy session everywhere I drove. Â Copaiba has great mucus reducing/expectorant properties. Â Read on to find out more of copaiba’s uses and how it can help you.
Copaiba Essential Oil is made from the gum resin tapped from the copaiba tree in Brazil. It is steam distilled to produce Copaiba essential oil, which is known for its high levels of beta-caryophyllene and a sweet aroma.
Copaiba can be used to treat physical discomfort. The aroma is woodsy and balsam like. It has a clean fresh scent that mixes well with most any other Young Living Essential Oil that you have. This is a great thing! WHY? Because Copaiba is the magnifying oil. When blended with another essential oil, it magnifies the effect of that oil as well. Â When used alone, copaiba is a calming and anti-inflammatory oil. Â In the Amazon where the trees are abundant, healers use the oil to heal many different ailments of inflammation from stomach ulcers and cancer to using it externally for insect bites and skin disorders. Â In Peruvian medicine they mix it with honey and use it for a sore throat remedy. Â Copaiba is also used to treat symptoms of urinary tract problems and bronchitis. Â Its medical properties are anti-inflammatory, preserves brain function and preserves neuronal structure, antimicrobial, anxiolytic (reduces anxiety), mucolytic (reduces mucus), anti ulcer, anti cancer, antiseptic, and kidney stone preventative.
