In this episode of the TruthSeekah Podcast TruthSeekah speaks with Renetha “Ren” Nichols about her exodus out of organized religion and closer to the heart of God. Coming out of religion and releasing dogmas can be one of the hardest things that a person can go through but at the same time one of the most freeing experiences. Renetha’s story is one of hope and inspiration in that you can find your true identity in Christ and not a church building or pastoral position. In this episode Renetha shares about her experiences with performance based Christianity and dealing with corrupt church leadership who like many have exalted the traditions of men over the truth of Christ. Many of these churches operate as cults having strict rules and ordinances that are found nowhere in the scripture. If you disagree with or break even one of their tenets you will be mocked, marked, ridiculed and even ghosted which is a new term that many are using. The Spirit of Christ is about grace and operating under the gifting of the Holy Spirit brings long-suffering, patience and peace which in many church circles has left the building years ago. People “learn” how to “do” church and are OK with dead religion simply going through the motions, but a true son or daughter of God will not settle for a knock off religion. They want something real, something tangible, and thats what true grace is about. It has the power to transform one’s life into the image of Christ which is a daily process. Empty religion is one of the most disgusting things on the planet and is something that God hates. Cultivating our relationship with Christ and growing in intimacy with God will always lead us to the truth no matter which path we are led down and Renethas story is proof.
