The four Gospel writers, also known as the Evangelists, are:
Matthew – Author of the Gospel of Matthew
Mark – Author of the Gospel of Mark
Luke – Author of the Gospel of Luke
John – Author of the Gospel of John
Each of these Gospels provides a unique perspective on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Which season are they associated with?
Each of the four Evangelists is symbolically associated with one of the four living creatures described in the Book of Revelation (4:7).
These symbols have been traditionally linked to the four Gospels and, by extension, to the four seasons:
Matthew – Represented by a Man or Angel. Traditionally associated with the season of Winter.
Mark – Represented by a Lion. Traditionally associated with the season of Spring.
Luke – Represented by an Ox or Calf. Traditionally associated with the season of Autumn.
John – Represented by an Eagle. Traditionally associated with the season of Summer.
