so, every interview is the same. He's
like, "Oh, wow." Throw you some

you, so it doesn't sound like you're in
a box.

Yeah, so um thank you for having me,
man. I've I've checked out uh your
podcast over the years. I've hung out
with you in
uh in your city, and love your family,
and uh yeah, it's good to be on with
you, finally. We've talked about it for
months. Yeah. Yeah, we've talked about
it, and so many people in my ear, "When
you getting Head on, man? When Ted's
coming on?" And hey, the 400th episode,
man. So,
That's crazy. 400, man. I'm honored to
be on number 400. Consistency's key,
right?
That's it. That's it. Well, consistency,
bro, you just put out a new album with
Love and Death, which was amazing.

We had a lot of cool just really
talented people help us with the project
and um got it to another level, I think,
and it's it's been awesome. It's
crazy. It's so much work, right? You do
music. I I know your stuff well, and
uh it's like you get you get all this
work
into a project, and you're working like
a year on it, or or, you know, maybe not
that long always, but
and then you just you get
[clears throat] to a point where you're
going to put it out, and you hire all
the people, and you get it put out, and
then it's just
nowadays, it's like McDonald's, man.
It's like, "Okay,
what's next? What's new?" And so, I
don't know. People are still listening
to it, and it's doing really well, so
I'm excited, but remember back in the
day, a record would last like a year.
It'd be like your favorite record for a
year. Now, it's just like, who knows?
Yeah. Man, that's a kind of a
that's a dig, man. I don't I don't like
it when someone I put out an album or
something, it's like, "Okay, when's the
next one?" I said, "Bro, I just spent a
year and a half working on this, and
you're already ready for the next one."
So, yeah.
Yeah, it's not it's not okay, but I
mean, that's times have changed, and um
you know, you got to go with the flow, I
guess.
Yeah, it's a good project, man. Talk a
little bit about
the Justin Bieber cover, which grew on
me, and it's a really good cover.
Dude, thank you. I uh
I just love, man. I love uh
I love pop music, you know? I don't
always listen to it, but some some pop
music is just really written well, cuz
there's just like these
really talented writers, you know?
Whether it's like that Max Martin dude,
or whatever, and just all kinds of just
talented people, and
sometimes they, you know, sometimes
they're cheesy, of course, but you can
hear in the skeleton of the like or in
the foundation of it, you can hear like
a good song. It just be like, man, if
that wasn't so pop, that would be
amazing. And Let Me Love You was one of
those. It moved me
back when I heard it. I remember hearing
it. It's a DJ Snake song featuring
Justin Bieber, and the melodies blend so
well, and uh
and I don't know
I forget what part of the song that got
me, but
uh
Oh, don't you give up? No, no, no. I
won't give up. No, no. When he drops
down right there. Yeah. I just love the
melody. I've always just loved melody
since I was a kid.
And so, it wasn't even my idea, though.
My other guitar player, who sang mostly
on that song, JR Barrientos, uh
he sent me a demo version of it, and it
was
I was just like, dude, yes.
100%, and I had the vision of a female
singer
immediately, and that was like 2 years
or more before the album came out.
So, yeah. Yeah, that's awesome. It
turned out good. Um speaking of Justin
Bieber, let's just talk about that for a
second. His relationship with Christ,
and being outspoken, and
he's he's done a couple concerts where
he's like he's sung, I think it was with
Hillsong, or whatever, and he's
on camera singing Reckless Love, which
is powerful, man. Have you been able to
check out any of his interviews, or hear
him talk about his relationship with the
Lord?
I have. I've
I've watched a little bit, you know, um
we know some of the same people, and
I've never I haven't met him yet, but
it's really cool, man. I can't even
imagine
him
being as big as he [music] is,
and then coming to Christ, and it's just
he went through the same thing same
thing I did, but
you know, um
but just on a whole 'nother level cuz
like everybody knows him. Love him or
hate him, you know his face, you know
his name.
And so I couldn't I was just following
him and praying whenever I felt led to
uh
that he would really
have an encounter, you know, really have
an experience and multiple experiences
ongoing because as you know,
you know, it's not going to last unless
it's real. And when everyone's gone and
you have that union with Christ,
Yeah.
it won't last. It won't last. So I was
just praying for that for him and hoping
for that for him.
And uh
I mean it's it to me it looks like it's
a real genuine touch, you know, that
he's had and um
it's uh it's amazing. So
Yeah. That's awesome.
And I like I love it how Christians love
to some Christians love to tear him
down, you know, cuz
he's like, you know, he's professing
Christ and the next thing you know, he's
like
in a video where it's not exactly like
they want it to be, you know, he's
freaking in his early 20s.
You think you want him to have it all
figured out just right off the bat? Like
give him some time to grow, give him
some time to mature, give him time give
him time to hear the leading of the
spirit, you know, what things to lay
down, what you know, it's just like
people are so quick, you know, Jesus
save us from your followers, you know,
didn't what Gandhi say that? It's like,
dude. So yeah, I'm rooting for him, man.
I don't care what religious people say.
He's uh
he's doing good and he had a genuine
touch. I could see it.
Yeah, you've kind of you know, went
through that same scrutiny. I guess
anybody does who I guess is in the in
the headlines and you know, celebrity or
whatever and then you you know, come out
as a Christian and you know, people try
to tear you down, but the scary thing is
like you said, it's not even the world
tearing you down. It's the scary thing
and the sad thing is when it comes from
the church. Like your family, your
brothers and sisters in Christ and
they're like, oh yeah, but you got
tattoos and you're still getting tattoos
now that you're a Christian or you went
back to Korn or whatever it is, man.
That's the the hardest part cuz you're
like, man, I'm you know what I'm saying,
I'm one of you guys,
but you still face that scrutiny and
stuff, you know.
Yeah, but then on the other hand, I
don't want to be seen as one of those
guys because
because I don't want the the Korn fans
to be you know, labeling me like them,
you know, so I'm trying to make my job a
lot harder, man.
Yeah.
Cuz I'm trying to freaking
display the unconditional love of Christ
and and sharing my story
and um you know, and hopefully they get
from my story and my books and my
messages that you die to yourself, you
surrender, you
you uh
you you forget the plans for a second
with your life and you put them into
God's hands and trust him.
And uh you know, hopefully that message
comes through, but man, when these guys
tear me down, it's just like
it's like who would want to
come into
uh
a kingdom like that where it's all
divided all the time, you know, and it's
just like hypocrites and judgment of
people and it's uh it's really it really
sucks, man, and
so I just try to I just try to like
enjoy the Lord and and not focus on that
stuff, else it'll drive you crazy, you
know, but you know, I can never I'll
never set walk away just because
Christians, you know, are are are
sometimes foolish, you know, like I'll
never walk away cuz I already met Christ
and I meet him all the time and he's
real. And so all we can do is just keep
breathing and keep moving forward. Yeah.
What does that look like though as far
as like your friends who are like the
real deal, who really believe in you,
who want you to succeed, who know that
you struggle, who know that you're human
and they're like displaying this real
authenticity of a Christ follower? When
you've got like the judgmental person
who kind of wants to see you fail, then
you got the person who's like, listen,
man, even though you're failed, I'm with
you, Christ is with you. Those kind of
people in your life, how much more does
it make you, you know what I'm saying,
appreciate those friends, you know?
Right, that's good cuz we and I want I
want to make this
clear that
I think there's a majority of those.
Yeah. So it's just the negative ones are
louder. The negative ones are louder and
they have more
drama spreads more than
love, you know.
Yeah. Like it's so so yeah, that's very
clear, but they
the uh
I have a lot of those in my life, you
know, and
and they're everywhere and I surround
myself with them and I got
a lot of friends that aren't Christian
and
and I look at them like they are
one with Christ, too, you know, that
they haven't woken up to the fact, you
know, and so it's like everyone's the
same to me. It's not like I'm in this
group of
uh
you know, just uh saved
you know, I'm
in this group of saved and
yeah, there's there's there's lingo in
the Bible that could
that could you know, it's there's
there's arguments of
uh
there's like universal like texts in the
Bible and there's uh and then there's
you know, inclusive texts. So you can go
back and forth all day long. At the end
of the day we don't know. Yeah. And so
my job I feel the Lord wants me to do
this
not to look at anyone according to the
flesh like the word says, look to him
according to the spirit and
and that they are uh everyone is
included in Christ and uh
they just you know, it's it's the
awakening to that fact and surrendering
and and all that, so I don't have any of
it figured out, bro. I'm just trying to
walk my path and and love people, right?
Let's just get simple. Let's love people
and share our story and share Christ.
That's it.
I don't I don't have any of the other
stuff figured out. The heaven,
[laughter] the hell, the the the world,
the worldly people, the the the
Christians, the you know, what's saved
and what's not. I don't have that
figured out. And I don't want to figure
it out because if I if I make myself on
the same level as God, then I don't need
him, you know.
I want him to tell uh unveil it to me
slowly as time goes by. What about you?
All right, how where do you stand with
all that? Like
Man, I mean I think it would just allude
to my next question for me and I'm sure
it's the answer for you and it would be
the answer for Justin Bieber, I think is
just kind of what you alluded to a
little bit a while ago, just having your
own personal quiet time, man, knowing
that that you are in relationship with
God and with Christ, you know, through
what Jesus did. And so finding that that
quiet time to kind of get away, to shut
up whatever else is going on in your
head, in the world, especially with what
we've been going through the last year,
like what is truth and what is real and
all of this kind of stuff. So for me
it's my relationship with Christ and
making sure that I get away versus
teaching people how to get away or teach
or praying for people like you know,
going into my prayer closet for myself.
And I and and I'm I'm strengthened, I'm
revived, I'm renewed when I just spend
time with Christ. And and I know that's
your story, too, man. I've watched uh
you know, a lot of the Love Drunk Headly
stuff, which is amazing and just talking
about almost like being connected to
this umbilical cord of love from God
through the person of Jesus in
relationship with the Holy Spirit. That
sustains me, dude. Like I'm I don't have
anything figured out, either. I'm I'm
experiencing this stuff and and trying
my best to encourage and equip people
and and you know, love on people. So I I
I guess that's like, you know what I'm
saying, how how important it is it to
you for to to read the scriptures, to
to pray by yourself and to to to
continue to seek the Lord like you did
on day one.
Um it's very important. Um
I think that uh
it's very important to you to like
totally
become addicted to the word, especially
the New Testament, you know, and and and
get that revelation to open up, the
spirit of wisdom and revelation and that
world
that world that carries the truth of the
existence of the human race. Yeah. Jesus
has it and he unveils that truth with
wisdom and revelation and so I devour
the word early on, you know, and what
happens is the word is on the paper and
the spirit uh
you know, blesses the word and it enters
you and as you devour it, the word
starts to become you and and you just,
you know, Jesus is the word and we are
one with Christ and so
once you get there, it's like
life just takes on a whole new vision
and you know, for the first couple years
when I was devouring the word,
I would still have doubts, but I had
encounters that were so real that
nothing could
make me run away, but I still would have
those doubts and like whatever demons
attacking the mind or whatever would try
to make me
feel like uh
like I you know, I I believed a lie
sometimes or something and I'm like
shaking my head going, wait, this
happened, this happened, this happened.
That's not that's not my imagination.
This is real. And so but after about 2
years of just eating the word, just
devouring it, I would I would choose one
gospel
and I would read that with like one of
Paul's books per day. Yeah.
And then the next or maybe per week, I
don't know, depend on the season.
And then the next day or week I would
read the the next gospel and read
another of Paul's books. And I would
just go back and forth and and sometimes
I would shake it up and do it backwards
and I just read it over and over and
over until I got to know the epistles
and and all that and uh
and it just like it just set me free,
man. And and um it just
the meaning of life to be to carry the
meaning of life is just so liberating,
man. And it's uh But when I do when I do
rock interviews and talk about
things like this, I don't always talk
like I won't talk the same as I talked
with you because I don't want to I don't
want it to come off like a like I'm a
know-it-all, you know, and
holier-than-thou and whatnot. And even
though I know a lot of the truth and
like I told you before, I'm still
figuring things out. But like Paul said,
I know in whom I believe. Like that's
not
there's no
uh
there's no confusion there. Like I
really know Christ and I know the word
and I'm still learning it, but you know,
um
so there's a humility aspect of it, but
I I also am very confident in whom I
believe and whom I trust. And
but but when I do talk to like
unbelievers, you know, I don't want it
to come off like that because it's like
I you know, oh, when people think that
oh, you you're better than me cuz you
you you have this secret, you know this
and that and you know, just I I try to
use wisdom when talking to diff- you
know,
Man, I remember um I I felt the you
know, I'm
move of the Holy Spirit when I started
doing secular interviews, going on to I
was talking to you know, spirits people
in the spirituality, new age, whatever.
And and the Lord told me not to speak
any scripture. And so I would
paraphrase. I would I would share these
eternal truths from from the scriptures,
but I wouldn't say, "Well, you know,
Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 12."
You know, I wouldn't speak like that and
the Christians would come on and get
upset that I wouldn't say chapter and
verse and why are you talking to these
people even though it's the essence in
in the same meaning of that love and
what that scripture was pointing at, you
know what I'm saying? And so
it's definitely a time and place for all
of it for the Christianese, you know,
and and for you I'm saying Bible
discussion and go and digging deep, but
I really enjoyed your Rob Flynn
interview, man. I just got done
listening to that. I thought it was
really good.
Oh, thank you, man. I uh
you know, I'm
I'm a I'm a man of unclean lips
sometimes and
but I'm in the rock world, bro, and I
just I I speak the language and whatnot.
I just just was talking to him, but I
did uh
yeah, I get tired. I did like freaking
dozens and dozens of interviews.
Sometimes I don't articulate what I what
I want to and and I don't uh finish the
thought in my mind. And so I think uh
that happened a little bit on that
interview, but it was still good. When I
read it back, I'm like, "Wow, that was
pretty wasn't you know, I'm I wish I
would have
you know, kept going in some more
clarity, but I I still was
you know, I that's a good example of
you know, I know it was Christ that
encountered me in my house,
but you know, when I was talking to him,
I'm like, "Yeah, I believe I believed it
was Christ doing something in me, you
know?" And I'm just uh trying to go the
the the humble approach and just um
throwing seeds out there, you know, but
I don't always get it right. I just I
try to share from my heart,
but uh
yeah, we'll
if if people are going to there's going
to be Christian police judging every
word I say, then go for it. If that's
their calling. Dude, if that's their
calling, if they think that's their
calling, then cool. I mean, they can go
to Jesus and report to all the things
that all these people have said wrong
and and Jesus can probably
uh do what he wants with them.
Yeah.
Now, um with that um
you know,
knowing that people are you know,
listening to your interviews and
Christians are listening to your
interviews and trying to take stuff out
of context. I didn't see anything wrong
with with you what what what you said,
but I'm in I'm kind of in that world,
too, so I kind of understand. Um I don't
but I don't see how anyone could uh see
something wrong with with what you said
on the interview about your experience.
Um does it mess with you sometimes of
like having to be careful like oh God,
they're going to
you know, is is it messing with you in
your head that you have to be careful
what you say because they're going to
use it against you and you wake up
tomorrow and it's a a headline and all
of these things, which we've been seeing
a lot of you in the in you know, the
blog music headlines recently with a
couple of these interviews. Does it mess
with you at all in your head?
So the first
couple three years where I became a
Christ follower, yeah. I was like
"Oh my gosh, please don't screw up or do
do do do do do do." And then I got to a
point where it's just like, "Man,
love God, love people and just share
your heart." And I don't I don't worry
at all or get nervous at all. I just
kind of
just conversate and have a cool talk,
you know? Um
now I will be
honest like after this after this, you
know, little thing happened with the
with the Rob Flynn podcast or whatever
and
I'll probably think about it and be
like,
"All right.
All right, help me, Lord, articulate
better cuz I don't
[laughter]
I'm not trying to get attacked. I'm not
trying to get all that, but Be
controversial, yeah.
Yeah, and I do want to be
clear about you know, cuz I don't know
what all these rock sites were were
thinking that they're thinking I'm
backing away from
from my faith. That's not true at all.
It was just I went too far with the
fanaticism and
Yeah. and and all that stuff. That
that's all I meant, but at the end of
the day,
it's all like it's all good, right? Like
if they're if it's drama and people
think I said something wrong, well,
whether they're for me or against me,
Paul said something like that, you know?
Either way, Christ is being preached and
for that, I'm
stoked.
Yeah, for sure, man. Um
that's what it's about, you know?
Just doing what the Lord's called you to
do, being open and honest about your
situation. Like that's how we evolve,
that's how we come to you know, trying
to be something that you're not or
pretend you know, fake it till you make
it. That's That's definitely not what
we're supposed to be doing, you know,
and giving people this fake facade of of
who you are, so
Yeah.
This one guy said
with all the drama, I I saw one clip of
friends and and he's like, "Getting a
lot of messages about this."
And it was like uh
Brian Welch quits Christianity or
something like that.
Yeah.
[laughter]
I had tens of thousands of views and uh
and the dude the clip that I saw, the
guy goes, "I will be so bold as to say
Brian Welch was never a Christian."
Yeah.
Right? I'm just like, "Dude." I mean,
what does that do though? Does it still
mess with you or is it you know, when
you when you hear that?
Dude, I'm thinking about this guy.
And I'm going,
"You really have the cojones to to say
that?
That's putting yourself
up with God's level."
And so I'm like
I'm kind of scared for this guy. He's
just like so far off.
Man, that's that's messing with
that's messing with things, man, that
you shouldn't mess with. Yeah.
That is the number one thing that Jesus
went after
with the Pharisees in the gospels. Yeah.
He was so
irate and just like
so
against that spirit. A judgmental spirit
and and this and that and Jesus is like
with the prostitutes and and saying, you
know, "Come to me
all who who are broken, you know?" that?
Wow, that's going to be an interesting
conversation,
you know? And and in the heavenlies one
day, I'll just be like,
"Okay, honestly, I saw that and I go I
just said, 'Lord, have mercy on this
guy, you know? He doesn't know what he's
doing. Have mercy on him. And
where I'm in the wrong, fix me, too."
Yeah. Yeah. I'll just try to take the
humble approach and uh but that's how I
feel. And it it was a little sad, you
know, but not not a big deal. I was just
like,
that's interesting that it was you know,
you were moved with empathy for him
versus like
being narcissistic or you know, "Why are
you attacking me?" You know, you were
you were concerned for that guy. That's
very that's very cool. Dude, it doesn't
it make you think? What if you were that
guy? You know what I'm saying? It's like
I think I've been that guy though, man.
You know what I'm saying? And that's
what's helped me. And I don't know if
you you probably experienced a little
bit of that cuz I've joked with you
about the whole 50 Cent stuff early on,
you know, "God's going to judge you, 50
Cent." And some of those statements you
made like, do you think you played the
role of that Pharisee early on and
that's what kind of has given you that
compassion in a sense? 100% yeah. I
mean, I definitely went like,
you know,
turn turn back to God. I was telling
people that.
But I was never like
I was NEVER LIKE SAYING,
"WHAT'S UP?"
[screaming]
HOW YOU DOING? GOOD.
DID YOU get more ink?
No, I don't think I've got any more
since last time.

with the kids at the at the barn. Yeah.

I was coming out of it. And I'm like, I

BUM."
THERE'S NO TALENT. Anybody can do that.
That's what I thought. Yeah. That's what
I thought. And then Mother's Milk came
out and I just was like,
the musicianship, I mean, obviously I
wasn't
talking smack about uh
you know, the early Chili Peppers. Bass
was killer and everything. I just I
loved my 80s.
And Anthony he was just He was
He was knocking that man. He was just
going a different direction. And then I
caught it and I'm like, dude. Then I
fell in love with it. Faith No More did
a little bit of that stuff, too. And I I
really love Faith No More cuz they went
darker. They went
darker, more minor music and Chili
Peppers was more funk.
And then uh then the whole world grabbed
onto to to that stuff, you know? And I I
I'm happy to say that I before those two
bands exploded, I came around. So, uh I
was a little early to the party when it
when it when when we think about the
whole world and them exploding to that
level, but yeah, I was like anti all
that. But of course, you know,
you say things and then
make a headline out of it for all
Headlines. I'm I'm wondering if
anybody's going to make any out of this
one, you know?
I think you've been good, though, so for
the most part. We're not done yet,
though. Um Trying to be really good, but
yeah, I did I I do consider you a
friend, so hopefully you won't grab
something and twist it and put a
headline on it. Yeah,

weird Christian in the beginning, right?

whatever or I don't even know what hell
is and you know, I don't I don't know
about all that. I'm just saying
What the word of God tells you what hell
is, head.

you can try to figure it out, you know?
But uh there's deeper Hebrew and Greek
and all this and we just don't know.
It's a mystery.
Yeah. It's all a mystery. All I This is
what I do know. You find out you don't
know.
Right? And it's This is what I do know,
though.
Heaven is real.
100% because we have encounters with
heaven. And uh Christ is real. We have
encounters with Christ. And you know,
hell, there's some kind of something
going on there and we just don't know
what the end result is. But yeah, I've
experienced
um hellish things, too. I was
I I've definitely had demons messing
with me, you know? And uh so, it is it
is very real. I just don't know the full
extent of of it, you know? And um and I
know I know what the word says and all
that, but
but I'm learning deeper
deeper meanings
of what we assume that the English
translations have said. And so, I'm just
I'm so comfortable with not
knowing and just letting it be a
mystery.
And uh the people The human race, it
comes from the root of pride, but the
human the human Christians that
it
They're addicted to conclusion that they
have to know. They want to be the same
as as God. What it What it It says like
the Lucifer, you know, tried to be the
same as God and take over his role. And
I think Christians do that now. They
want to be the same level as God and
understand everything. And it's like,
dude, you're just
I embrace
mystery. Yes. so much and I always will
because
I always want to
have a humble heart and say and be like,
Lord, teach me. And even when I think I
know, I'll be like,
Lord, I could be wrong.
You know?
Yeah.
For sure. I I remember just having a
change of heart myself with that whole
issue with just understanding like, I'm
not concerned with people who are going
to hell. Like I said, I don't even know
that they are. I'm more concerned with
people who are in hell right now.
You know, those people who are broken
and
you know, looking for hope and looking
for truth and answers, man. Those people
who are hell could because when it comes
to like the light,
you know, the the reason that the that
the light is so marvelous or so
beautiful is because there's gradients.
There is the depths of darkness that
exists on this earth. And these levels
of consciousness of being quote unquote
separated from God or at least feeling
like you are, right? The illusion that
you're separated in your mind, you're
separated as the script the scripture
says. And so, Right. uh we we have hope
for somebody. Not when you die, but hope
for you now. And that's the the whole
reason this Christian thing is
beautiful. It's not the fact that what
you get to tap into once you die, you
get to go to heaven. It's like, no, you
get to tap into heaven now. Life and
life more abundantly now. So. That's so
good, bro. I love what you said at the
beginning of that. It's uh
I'm you know, I'm looking for the people
that are in hell now because people are
in cages now. They talk about, you know,
demon or everlasting cages and all that
stuff. Uh
people are in cages right now in their
life. And some of them don't want it
out.
You know, and some of them
Sometimes it's fun in a cage, you know?
When when when you have all your friends
in the cage with you and you're you're
doing up the
the drugs and all that. It's like, but
then the cage starts to get really dark.
And you'll see your friends start to
change. You'll see yourself start to
change. And then, you know, that's when
people start to want out of the cage.
And so, I love how you said that. Cuz
there's
there's uh dimensions now of hell that
people can be trapped in all over the
place. All over the planet.
Yeah.
Um I'm sure you've heard you've seen it
or heard it. You have you heard the
school teacher who does the ABCs using
the Korn song?
Yeah. Yeah, I told my friend the other
day
about the uh
the 18th time someone texted me it. I
was like, hey, bro.
This is the 18th time I got it, but
yeah, it's funny. So, it's but it's a
That dude is awesome. And then there was
another one
that was uh
a few months ago that did something
similar. I think they
It was us and Papa Roach. I forget what
it was, but those are cool, man. Those
are fun. Some Some bands like Bring Me
the Horizon had
a song rechart again because of these
TikTok things.
Yeah, for sure. It's crazy.
So, I'm just waiting for that to happen.

did a solo gig. He played with Ozzy
Osbourne, Rob Zombie and Manson in New
Year's Eve about 2 years ago and uh
and I walked out to go watch Jonathan
and everyone's like, "Rob! Rob!"
I'm like, "DANG IT, MAN."
Do I look that much like him? I mean, I
guess it's a
he's a he's a fine-looking young man and
that's a compliment, but I
you know, but I I'll take what I can
get, right? Yeah. I just walked away.
I'm like, all right, I I waved a little
bit and I
Dude, oh, you're going to love this. You
know Danny Trejo? Yeah. The actor Yeah,

The Lone movies and all these different
movies.
Dude, so he him and his friends are
backstage at the Aussie thing and

and he walks by with his friends and he

cuz I know them and I'm like
honest like actually
I'm Brian from Korn. I'm here just
hanging out with my singer he's playing,
but uh
and so he was like, "Oh, man." And he
was in Rob's dressing room earlier.
Oh, wow. Go figure. And uh
and then the rest of night when I'd walk
past him he'd be like
"What's up, Rob?"
And he would jokingly call me Rob again,
but That's funny. Yeah, it's funny. I
mean, people don't know. They could
think you're Rob Zombie.

Hey, did you have dreads like that when
I saw you? I don't think so.
They were longer and forming more, but
yeah.
They were a couple of years old.

Were you always planning on getting them
back cuz I know you cut them out, right?
Yeah. Oh, dude, I fell into to
depression when I cut my dreads, man.

Yeah, I felt yeah, cuz it was so much
work and and just a part of me and when
I cut them I was like, "Oh, man." Why'd
you cut them?
Just something different. Just trying to
switch it up and um that kind of thing
and it was like instant regret, you
know, instant fail.
So, do you do like do you let yours form
naturally kind of?
most part, yeah. They're still forming,
yeah, for sure.
I got similar hair as you, bro. It's
curly hair, right? Yeah, curly and and
thick, right? Yeah.
Yeah. Cuz your dreads form thick and I
kind of wish I would have done mine a
little thicker, but
you know, I I like them and I don't like
to take care of them on the ends. I like
them to get all ratty on the ends cuz
they curl up. Well, that's because
you're cutting them, right?
Yeah, yeah, that's true.
I cut them I layer them because I don't
know. I feel like when they're all one
length it just it's a little bit of the
70s hippie look and I like the layers.
And then dude, they're long right now.
These this part's usually like up here,
you know, and so it's time.
Yeah, you had extensions for a while,
man. Talk about that, dude.
Uh
Didn't you put yellow extensions in or
So, my yeah, my daughter
Here's what happened.
I grabbed these like I would grab I
grabbed a chunk of hair like this,
right? Mhm. And I back combed it I back
combed I got the dread going and then
there was like
tiny little hairs left hanging down.
Yeah. But what I did was I got hair ties
and tied them in and put like 50 or 100
hair ties on each little stringy area
and so it looked like the same length.
And that was what I first did
around 2011.
And then, you know, those get pretty
pretty nasty after a few like I I was
touring a lot and they're getting smelly
and so I cut them off
and my daughter
bought real human hair at Sally's and
she dreaded it for me. She was 12 years
old dreading hair.
And they were similar color and that's
when I put extensions in.
Uh about a year or 2 years later they
got so long I cut the extensions out.
So, it's all it's all head hair right
now, 100%. Even this one. Look at this
one. This one's so long.
It's so thin.
But yeah, I'm
They look good, man. They look good.
Rastafarian. It's the
Nazarite vow, right?
Yes. Do they I mean I mean, do they hold
a spiritual meaning to you?
Um not not like really deep, but
I do I do acknowledge that I feel like
when I was a struggling human being I
never quite liked what I was doing with
my hair and I had this
I had this
honestly a really unhealthy I got I got
made fun of they called me head, but I
always
when I was a kid like 12 years old and
my whole life I thought my head was
abnormally big and so I was scared to
get dreads cuz I thought it would make
it look even bigger. And so but so I
always had this hair like twisty things
or whatever and um
and I never really loved it and when I
finally did the dreads when I got sober
and
and and walked with Christ and
everything and about few years after I
did all that
it's just been the best, man. I
I love my dreads.
I
I want to be like Gandalf with
dreadlocks when I'm 82. Gray dreadlocks?
No, white. Oh, white. Yeah, not not
Gandalf the gray, Gandalf the white.
There you go.
Actually, my dad I follow I I follow
after my dad. He's got hair like me, but
more straight, but really thick. He's
got all of his hair. Man, he's 82 years
old and it's it's still like
gray grayish silver. It's still not all
white.
And he he went gray about 60 years old.
So, I'm 50 now and I hope I got 10 more
years or more.
So, you don't you don't dye your hair?
No. Nice. This is all I got I got some
I got some hairs that poke out gray and
whatnot, but that's about it.
Yeah.
You can't tell.
So, I'm hoping that I got his genes and
then, you know, I'll go even like that'd
be rad if I had brown hair mostly brown
until I'm 70. Like Jesus. [laughter]

I want to ask you a couple things about
some some music as well because I seen
you with a
Silent Planet shirt on.
That band. Yeah, is that Who's the
singer? Is it Garrett Garrett.
Yeah, he's a he's awesome, man. I met
him when before he was in a band he was
a kid like 12, 13 years ago and he's uh
he's awesome. He's always been really
cool and and then I it was cool to see
him
start to go with Silent Planet, you
know, and and and the rest of the band
are are very talented and
and yeah, so do you know those guys?
Yeah, I've actually had them on the
podcast, yeah. Oh, rad. Okay. Really
cool guy. We had a cool conversation.
Yeah, it was when they were on the
Warped Tour I think they were on Warped
Tour and he pulled away and did a
interview with me.
Yeah, when'd you talk to him? It's been
a couple years.
It's been a couple years. 2017 maybe. I
don't know.
I like how he he went and got some I
haven't talked to him since he got some
uh
emotional help. I think he he had to go
in for treatment and I think it was cool
that he shared that and
to show all his fans that he that
they're not alone that we all struggle.
You know, and I hope he's doing a lot
better now. So, I uh
Yeah. Yeah. That I mean, that's a hard
one to discuss in in in Christendom
especially charismatic Christianity
that you got to have everything together
or you got to at least pray through it.
And so when it comes to a counselor, a
therapist or even seeking medication to
to kind of help your brain work properly
a lot of that stuff is looked down upon
as a crutch or you you weren't spiritual
enough. And so for him being a Christian
and and talking about those things
openly not just him, but a lot more
people who are now it it speaks volumes.
Yeah, it's really cool, man.
It was so taboo when I was growing up
and so
it's just the whole world broke.
Look at everything going on with some of
it's laughable, but but then there's
cool stuff like the mental health
awareness and all that and all these
issues. You see how they're just
dropping out of the sky? It's like
to me I'm like, "What's what's caused
this?" I wonder if there's some
something in like the farming or or just
that's warping us and there's so many
issues or if it's just the end of the
age coming to where things got to get
um you know, so so far away from
God
that you know,
it's it's becoming a time where
are you really going to
just evolve with the world so much
and or you know, and call all this evil
good
that you know, or are you going to
finally surrender? I don't know. I'm
just I'm trying to figure that out. Like
I'm not really trying to figure it out,
but I'm trying to Yeah. try to discern
what's really going on. Is the world
just getting darker and the lights
getting brighter and that's all these
strange issues are arising with with
people with identity and people with
politics with with
you You pandemics with all this stuff.
is it just
you know, the birth pangs to get people
to hopefully wake up and and run to God
because this this world is
uh
it's a very fragile,
you know, and there's
there's so many one after another after
another circumstances that are it's
proving how fragile and temporary this
world is.
Yeah. And hopefully it's just going to
produce massive spiritual awakening and
then searching and seeking and all that.
And I got I think it does.
Yeah. Yeah, I know.
There's a lot of people waking up
especially when it comes to conspiracy
theories about what's going on. For me,
a part of my awakening not as a
Christian but just going deeper into my
spirituality as a Christian,
uh there came a wave of, you know,
getting into conspiracy theories and
9/11 and all these crazy things that I
was researching and then after you know,
that kind of came to an end because
there's really nothing you can do with
those theories but just come up with
more theories and see how we can try to
change things but nothing really happens
until you change yourself and then the
people are that's a that's an awakening.
When you begin to take care of your
spiritual health, your mental health,
your faith, you know what I'm saying?
So, I think a lot of people lot of
grandmothers right now a lot of people
who you wouldn't have thought would be
conspiracy theorists at this moment in
time are conspiracy theorists on across
the board and rightfully so. We're in
strange times but after that once we get
through this the next stage is spiritual
awakening for the individual to to take
care of themselves and take care of
their body, their their spirituality and
then they can find out that that's how
you change the world. If you change
yourself and then you you know, affect
those people around you
and in a positive way and then each one
reach one and we're changing the world
one person at a time and it starts with
our cell.
Yeah, totally.

tried to, you know, but so but as far as
other people, you know, I think
I think that if it's legal where you
live and you do it in moderation and
it's like not hindering your growth

Maybe it's good for you. Maybe people
have
you know, massive anxiety problems and
it helps, you know, I'm I'm not I just
don't know. I'm kind of like to each
their own. That's that's that's where I

can you expand on receiving the Holy
Spirit? What what what is that? What was
that? I think there's some people who
don't even know what that is, right? And
that's like a staple of of your faith.
Ooh, that's good. I was I was listening
to something earlier today about you
know, everybody who's spiritual whether
they're, you know, usually like new age
or whatever it's like it's all about
love. It's all about love.
It's all about love but
the
um God is love and that's one part of it
but
to go further it's the spirit of truth
with love is where you find the meaning
of life.
And that's what this God spirit is the
spirit of truth.
He will reveal
and lead you and guide you into all
truth, you know, not that we figured out
and we have all the answers and like I
said people are addicted to conclusion
but
leads you and guides you into all truth
which what is truth? Is Christ. Christ
is the new
humanity. It's the new creation. He's
human he's human nature. He's all fixed
up. Everything is fixed up back in
Christ. And that's where the spirit of
truth and the Holy Spirit comes into you
and and as you
as you yield to the leading of what
you're supposed to do to grow
cuz God calls us, you know, we don't
call ourselves. He calls us and gives us
the desire but as you yield to it and
and learn the the scriptures and what
they really mean
then the spirit of truth like totally
awakens you and that's what the Holy
Spirit does. So, that's that's really
powerful uh
um
you know, I
when I when I first started this walk I
was like I want I want the in filling. I
want all I can get of that spirit of
truth because I had been living a lie
for, you know, decades since I was a
boy. I was just you know, I was I had
some good times and I had some awesome
musical gifts and we we had the great
success and that was that was all cool
but at the end of the day I was living a
lie and just an addict and selfish and
all that, so
man, I just I I wanted to drink drink
drink all I could of that spirit of
truth and so yeah, I mean
add on add on to that.
Yeah, again I mean it everything
points back to that. I mean um
you know, that relationship with Christ
and the Holy Spirit and and God, you
know, the
and uh
that baptism changed my life. It's it
was what I was looking for.
For me and I think
did it happen naturally for you though?
Like upon confession and like just
seeking God or was it something like
that you had to receive later cuz
there's some people who kind of practice
that like, okay, now you're Christian
now the baptism. Because for me, I asked
Christ to come into my life forgive me
of my sins and heavenly fire entered my
body and cleaned out all the sin, lying,
cheating, stealing, all the wrong stuff
that I that I had ever done and it
washed me clean and I received the
baptism upon confession um for me. So,
was it like that for you or was it
something later that you got baptized
with the Holy Spirit or even
understanding what it was cuz you went
through a you went through a process
that I feel like you had to have the
Holy Spirit to go through with anyway,
you know?
Yeah, it was uh uh
it was a process but as I look back and
I know the encounters that I've had and
sometimes the spirit of revelation and
wisdom like just that where your eyes
are open you're like, "Oh my gosh, I
feel God all all around me."
I was having I had a couple of those in
my car
driving to go pick up my daughter in
between Korn tours when I was on
methamphetamines.
Because my aunt was talking about
uh
going to Catholic church and talking
about God and my daughter was asking
about God and I was like, "I don't
know."
But I started having these
things where I was
like, "Wow, I think God is real." And I
would feel him, you know, but I didn't
know how to articulate or what it was.
But now that I know what I know and
looking back I was like I was tripping.
And so
um
but the
but I started having
I think I think it happened right away
to where honestly the in filling of the
spirit was awakening me opening me cuz
we have eyes here that sees the natural
and I see the trees and my house and
everything but we have eyes in our heart
spiritually, you know, we have eyes and
once they're opened, you know, that's my
infilling was like it happened pretty
dramatically where they were opened and
I and I was I started to see in the
kingdom, the Christ world, you know,
it's a whole new world. Even though
we're on we're on this world, we see the
meaning of the true world, which is what
he gives us and uh
So, that was pretty that was pretty
quick, but then
you know, I went to this one church and
then but people were telling me about
the infilling of the Holy Spirit. That
could have more. And like I said in that
Rob Flynn podcast, you know, I'm like
you know, I'm all or nothing. And so
that and that fanatic decision I I'm
proud of. I went I wanted more of the
spirit, you know, but you know
I went 100%. I was like, what what can I
do to have more? What can I do cuz I
wanted freedom and and so that was it
probably came like a month or two later
where I found another church and they
were
and they taught me how to pray in the
spirit and all that stuff and and I used
that tool, but uh
but yeah, it was a gradual thing over
over like from from like before I I made
a decision for Christ, things were
happening to like two or three months
later.
It's it was an awakening process that
happened. It wasn't like yours where it
was like
you know I and that doesn't always
happen, you know, for sure. I Yeah, it's
more, you know, maybe something focused
or something asked for. I had no I had
no idea what what any of that was. I
just felt the peace and presence of God
in a small prayer meeting.
And um that happened, you know, when I
asked Christ come into my heart. Um
favorite favorite worship song. I know
you and you and Phil he did an interview
years ago saying it was Oceans at the
time, but uh at you know, at this point
favorite worship song now and and
maybe throwback song when you first got
saved. Like what was one of the ones
that you really cling to early on?
100% now and still is even though it's a
little dated
but it's eternal to me and it never gets
old is uh
Cory Asbury. What's that song?
Reckless Love. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that
one. We just did a a beautiful
meditation to that yesterday, which was
crying just hearing it. You know, all
you got to do is play the song and
Right. Right. Yeah, it's uh
it's pretty crazy. And so one of the
early ones, 100% this was the one I
walked in to the church on meth.
It was Majesty. Oh, man. Your grace's

coming off of meth, right? And once I
got clean
I'm like, that sucks that the church is

cuz
I would be there. And I'm like
wait, I got iTunes. I got Delirious. I
got Majesty. I got all those. So, I'm
going to do three songs at home
and then listen to a sermon from all
these different preachers online and I'm
I can do church every single day at
home. I don't got to wait for their
Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.

That's the beautiful thing. It was like
for so for me like and I I know it was
similar for you like when you got that
baptism of Holy Spirit Wow. and that
relationship with Christ
it kind of took the
you know, the uh the uh addiction to to
drugs, right? You begin you got addicted
with the Holy Spirit. And I remember
telling my cousin like well, I went home
and just flushed all my weed and stuff
like that. I was like, man, listen, we
can pray and get in God's presence and
feel that euphoria whenever. So, when I
was in the world, we used to go to
people's house houses with with weed and
stuff and and we'd match them. Hey, we
got a joint. You got a joint? Yeah, I'll
smoke one with mine, you know, you smoke
one with you. And we'd go to random
people's house and smoke. So, when I got
born again
we go to people's house and say, hey,
y'all y'all want to pray? And every like
hangout, even like events where they
would just wanting to watch a movie, a
Christian hangout, we turned it into a
prayer meeting like revival everywhere
we went. So, that like dependency on
drugs and to feel alive or to feel numb,
whatever, um was replaced with the the
beauty of the baptism and infilling of
the Holy Spirit. And like you said, you
could put a song on
and immediately be reminded. I got songs
that I I don't listen to because I know
they're clutch songs [snorts] that I can
just put them on when I just when I feel
desperate or feel broken or feel alone
or afraid, you know, whatever that I can
put that song on and instantly I can
feel his presence and I'm reminded who I
am in him and things, you know.
Bro, me too. I got certain songs where I
will not
play that much because I
I don't want them to to to get
to to feel old for me ever. I'm like,
I'm going to save these. These are my
precious ones that uh
maybe not for desperation, but just I
don't want them cuz I know my human
nature and my my human nature if I play
them too much will tell
the my brain will tell my soul that
they're old and and I've listened to
them thousands of times and I don't want
to lose that magic. Yeah.
One of mine is uh Going in Blind by
P.O.D.
I don't know if you heard that one.

Say it again.
Was that one of your songs early on?
Yeah, I mean as soon as I heard that
song, you know
all of P.O.D.'s collection is like that
for me, but that song specifically Going
in Blind by P.O.D. is one that like
presence of God so strong, desperation,
need you kind of thing and anytime that
I I put that on
um
Love is love Sunny's walk, man, for
sure.
I got chills, bro. That

So, I always used to listen to it.

Yeah. And they got a lot of top
and there's a lot of good metal songs.

what's crazy? It's like
okay, if you were
back when you were 17
and you're okay, we're just going to
make up a story. You're 17 and you and
act like the internet was around back
then and you tune in to me and you
talking about this stuff and you play
that song
so cuz
I know there's going to be people
watching and they see it and they're
just like to them it's like cheesy like
He knows my name. But but then
I want to talk about the spirit of truth
because when you're filled with the
spirit of truth and that stuff, all the
old lies come out of you
that song right there carries power.
Because what it says is exactly the
truth of the existence of the meaning of
life. I love to say the meaning of life
because that's it. He does know your
name. He knows my name. He knows our
thoughts before we say them. He He knows
when I'm going to stand up or sit down
before I do it. It's so he's so uh
that that spirit of truth brings that so
that we can actually believe it. And I
bet you people in the world cuz I know
it was me. It was like, oh, why would
they believe that?
We don't just believe that. It's
revealed to us. That's the only reason
why we would believe it because it's
given to us to believe it, right?
It's crazy and I just want people
watching
to understand that. This is not
something that we're doing on our own.
This is a gift given and
you just yield to it
and this gift can be given to you as
well.
That's on that you.
Man.
It's true, bro. He knows our name, bro.
Just that. Take the hell stuff. Take the
whole take the whole Bible, man. Just
the fact that God knows our name.
And he and he knows everything about us
like you just said. You just you just
preached the gospel. And uh and he still
wants to hang out with us.
You know.
And
Yeah. And he knows all of our names.
Whoever's watching, Christian or not,
he's like he knows the number of hairs
on your head, and me me and Truth
Seeker, man, we got a lot of hairs on
our head. I bet you that'd be hard for
him to count these, but he knows all of
the numbers of heads or hairs on our
head, and it's staggering.
[clears throat]
And it sounds too good to be true at
first, but when you get the spirit of
truth
deposited into your soul and spirit,
you are done. You're cooked, and you are
given the meaning of life, and
that's it. You're just you're living in
that joy and that peace and that uh
contentment, man. Really, it's
contentment, cuz it's like it's all good
now. For the rest of my days, it's all
good. Whether I got good days or bad
days, It's all good.
it's all good from now on.
Yeah. Um man, that's the gospel, bro.
And so, that's why I wanted to have this
talk, you know?
[snorts]
Uh you know, I love to pick your brain
about what you got going on and stuff,
but really what, you know, is about your
your relationship with Christ, which is
which is um you know, transferable, man.
People are looking for truth, and and
you found it, you know? The keys to the
answers of the universe, which is that a
relationship with the creator who you
know, fashions all of this, holds it
together, which is as simplistic, you
know, relationship with with Christ. And
um man, there's nothing more satisfying
The Bible says godliness with
contentment is great gain, and I think
you found that, and that is, you know,
making sure that your source is the Holy
Spirit, is this relationship that
sustains you. Nothing else, no no money,
no wealth. You've searched the depths of
that, um but it really is uh to to, you
know, have your soul satisfied, to be at
peace with God, man, through the
presence of of Christ, you know?
And and you too, man. I know you've been
there and uh and and we got similar
experiences.
it in the in like the you know, the
mystery stuff, you know what I'm saying?
Which I'm still like you, I'm lost in
the mystery, but found in simplicity,
and the simplicity is that he [snorts]
knows my name, you know? Yep. And uh
yeah, but your story is amazing, and I
want to encourage people to go look up
your story, your testimony as well. It's
a it's awesome, so you guys could check
that out. For sure, for sure.
Google it. It's out.
Yeah, I'm all I'm all over the place out
there with my story, but I do Let's uh
let's end with a prayer, man, and uh
just for people to experience
you know, what we've been talking about,
cuz cuz cuz they can, right where they
are. See, that's the interesting thing,
and I've told you, the reason I do this
stuff and I talk to people from all
walks of life and backgrounds, and I
host these talks is like people are
searching, man. Like whether we're
talking about aliens or UFOs or
spirituality or Hindu or New Age,
whatever, people are searching. And so,
I'm in front of them, so we'll do a long
talk, and at the end, I'll pray. Even on
a secular show with somebody who doesn't
know God, doesn't know Christ like I
know him, whatever that means, um I'll
pray, and they can feel the power of the
Holy Spirit. People are listening, and
they just start to weep in the middle of
a simple prayer of asking God to
encounter them, to touch their lives.
And so, that's why I do it, man. I I
know the power of prayer, I know the
power of the word, the power of our
testimony, so uh let's pray, man. Let's
just end this this talk out with a with
a prayer. For those who are going
through stuff, people are even though
there's a dichotomy, man, because in
Christianity, we got everything
together. There's even this idea of
demons aren't real. Just because we're
not dealing with those same demons that
we dealt with years ago, it's out of
sight, out of mind, but people are
dealing with demons and mindsets, and
they're in hell right now. They really
need help, and we know the helper, which
is the Holy Spirit. So,
let's pray, man.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir. You want me to start?
Yeah, you can start it. It's fine.
Yeah, well, Lord, uh
that very spirit of truth that we're
talking about,
that's your spirit, straight from the
depths of who you are,
poured [clears throat] into the depths
of who we are,
deep inside of us, Lord, where no one
else can see but you.
And there's there's, you know, there's
relationships on this planet. We got
friends, we got we got love
relationships, we got family,
and nobody knows that deep and hidden
area
of us except you.
So, I just ask you for that very spirit
of truth
to to touch
and and and to pour into everybody who's
listening right now or watching, and um
and uh you guys, anybody watching, you
just have to ask and keep on asking.
Just ask.
You know, you you have to desire opens
this whole world up.
So, yeah, Lord, I just ask you give them
the desire.
You uh
you you give them uh a powerful
just longing to know
this truth, this experience, this
relationship,
and that they don't have to be
lumped in with these all these religious
people that you know, there are a lot of
them, but they're
they're actually a smaller amount of
them, I think, than than the the real
people, but what we see in the media and
uh clickbait is
judgmental ones a lot, so but Lord,
I just thank you that we don't have to
be any cookie-cutter
religious person. We can be ourselves.
We can walk this path with you and go to
a place
maybe no man has gone, you know, as far
as like a calling and and
and just, you know, doing unique things
with you.
You know, like Truth Seeker does, you
know? He He talks to people that believe
Hindus and uh people uh that believe in
aliens and all this other stuff, Lord,
and and he talks to them and just
conversates with them,
[clears throat]
and uh
it's amazing, and and so many Christians
would
just uh attack him and you know, say
this and that, but he knows the power of
Christ's love
and what it will do,
[clears throat]
and he's not judging these people.
They're seeking. They're searching for
the meaning of life.
And so, I just I just ask you for that
spirit of truth to pour out on all
those, the the Hindus, the the uh the
Muslims, and
anybody, Lord. They're not evil, they're
not our our enemy. They
they just
they don't know the spirit of truth
that you give. That's it.
And so, Lord, I just pray for all of
them, and I'm not saying I have all the
answers either, Lord, that all the
Muslims are wrong and and I have all the
answers, you know? But I do know the
spirit of truth, and I do know Christ is
the way, the truth, and the life, 100%.
That's because I've been taught that.
And uh Lord, thank you for
for everyone tuned in. Just thank you
for our lives. Thank you for both of our
lives,
and uh
many more that are going to encounter
this, and um you're awesome.
Amen. Amen. Good stuff, bro.

Father, thank you for your grace, for
your love, God. Thank you for the cross
of Christ, God. Lord, I thank you for
desperation, the people who are

documentaries, they're digging, they're
reading books, they're getting into all
kind of things, Lord, but they're
looking for you. And I pray that right
now, God, that you would invade their
lives with your precious Holy Spirit.
Let them know that Christ took on the
cross, God, to bridge the gap, to bring
them closer to your heart, God. To tear
away, to rip away any veil that would
separate any human being from your love.
Let them encounter that, to feel your
love, to feel your [clears throat] grace
right now in Jesus' mighty name. We

walk, you know, with Christ, I've told
you this, has just been a huge
inspiration to me of what ministry is
supposed to look like. You know, just to

whether it's tattoos, whether it's music
or whatever. Not just me. There are many
people who look up to you. You know
that. You get the messages, you see the
comments, and so keep doing what you're

Amazing guy. Amazing guy. Um love his
story, love his heart, his his heart for
God, for people, man, for sure. You
know, and somebody who's uh
you know, kept going, man. You know,
when you have like reasons to give up,
and I think
a lot of reasons, if you read the
headlines and and and seeing people get
attacked. But hey, it's part of it. It
comes with the territory. It comes with
a platform. Um and people will try to
hijack that platform. I mean, with all
of the headlines and and clicks that
people, you know, take his words out of
context. They're trying to get clicks
and headlines, but that comes with the
territory. And uh but to see somebody
who
has not grown bitter,
who has not abandoned his faith in
Christ because of the stuff he's been
through. Listen, that's commendable,
man. And so, I strive to be like that.
Um Head's walk has been such a
inspiration uh in my life and and even
his music, uh whether it's Love and
Death, whether it's his his solo stuff,
or Korn's music, you know, has been such
you know, um
uh
you know, a crutch in my life. And I
just remember, you know, talking about
drawing pictures of him and
um on my notebooks at school and writing
their lyrics and if anybody knows the
lyrics to the song Kill You, I remember
my um
uh
my stepdad, my mom's boyfriend at the
time, he was drunk and on pills and all
kind of stuff. And he called me in there
and he said he said I was going through
problems, and he wanted to know he
wanted me to write my feelings out. And
I literally
wrote the lyrics to that song, and hand
it hand it to him. And man, their music
is uh monumental for me. And uh I
remember just used to put headphones on
and listen to Jonathan Davis and him
singing about the stuff he's gone
through and and how open and you know,
authentic he was about his story, and
you resonated with it. And even then,
seeing like, you know, I'm saying uh
you know, resonating with authenticity
in his music. And I used to put those
headphones on and just cry, just weep
about the abuse and things that we're
going we're going through. And we're you
know, most of us are looking for
somebody who gets us, man.
Who understands what we're going
through. And and if for me at that young
age, it was Jonathan Davis. It was Korn,
listening to that music. And he gets it,
man. He knows what it's like to be a
reject, to be called outside of your
name, or to be judged, or not be picked
in the in the crowd, and those kind of
things, you know. For me, it was
Jonathan Davis and all kinds of other
music that I listened to at the time.
But um
the person that that that again knows
what we're going through and knows us
better than we know ourselves is Christ.
Is the person of Jesus Christ and and
desires a relationship with us. And and
I experienced that as a teenager, and I
felt the beauty of Christ come into my
life and change me
uh in 1998, and I haven't been the same
since. Am I perfect? No. Do I mess up
every day? But uh my dependency
and um upon the beauty of who God is in
Christ, I need it every day. Um I still
need him just as much today as I needed
him
over 20 years ago. And so, when we talk
about the beauty of Jesus and you know,
I begin to cry and weep when we just
mention his name sometimes, man. I'm
still
I'm still dependent. I'm still broken,
and I I that that is my strength.
You never graduate from that, people.
I don't care who you're listening to,
what Christians are telling you that you
don't need it, and you don't need the
Bible, and you don't need prayer, and
you don't Listen. Um why get away from
that? If it worked for you then, it'll
work for you now. And so, it's the
simplicity of the gospel and and the
scriptures. And so, it it sustains me.
And I need
Christ in my life more today than I
needed him when I was full of demons and
witchcraft and all of the crazy stuff
that almost took my life. That stuff's
real. People are still dealing with that
right now. That's why we talk about it.
So,
with that, I'm going to say peace and
shalom, man. Thank you guys for hanging
