you again as always bro uh love uh just tracking you man hope you don't mind uh but i'm i'm checking you out every kind of chance i get i enjoy what you share and what you're bringing out here and i think it's so needed bro yeah man um we first did a talk two years ago maybe and it seemed like you were like uh just stepping into this journey from you know being a christian minister and evangelist and sharing and things like that on that platform but being called more to the spiritual path spiritual tradition the kind of more a more broad lens uh you know painting life with a you know broader stroke and uh so that was a beautiful conversation that we had the first time and we've been building ever since man yeah we have been building and and you know it's interesting and i think everybody probably can relate to this that you look back over your life like look at think about the story of the emmaus road you know the story once jesus was resurrected the resurrected christ right and he's walking with these three these several guys and and and they don't know they know him but they don't know him and and it's like the whole time he's talking with them and they're engaging and then all of a sudden when he's doing one of the most common things that they do everything they they're eating but the way he did the common was so uncommon like the way that he did the common thing of just eating they were like wait a minute no one does common things like that but as soon as they turn it's like that's jesus he disappeared and and the great i mean some great stories you get from that one thing is i think we're all called to the common every day of life to but bring true like awareness to everyday life to where we do the common completely uncommon right but but but then they ask this great burning question what did not our hearts burn within us while he was with us the whole time he was there and we were talking we were tripping and we were joking you know we was firing shots joke shots at him and whatnot he was firing them back and the whole time we didn't know that that was yahweh that was that was the living christ in the flesh and uh i think we all have that story it's like we look back over our lives and think wow you know all of this time something that's been leading me and i gotta say that two years ago god used you you were a super important catalyst in my life uh where i've been on this trajectory and kind of interested in mystical ideas and concepts and all of this and i can go back as far as people that led me to christ i i always make the joke that my mother uh was was a black hippie she was a total hippie raised in the 60s and she was into all types of stuff and just just out there and her family didn't get her but she was on a spiritual path right and so i kind of inherited that and an important catalyst was those two years ago man uh when i ran into what you were doing it was just like family i was like oh that's my dude it's like just remembering what your right hand felt like or your left hand it's like oh this thing works that's my boy yeah and uh so it's been good ever since man yeah yeah man for sure for sure and i appreciate where you're at and sticking with it you know and i talk about this all the time like you never know like people get into this and they get scared and then they gotta run back to the faith and there's just so much like weird stuff that goes on like mentally well i call it the pendulum effect like i'm in it man i'm i'm seeing visions man i'm being visited by angels i'm doing breath work and then it's like oh i gotta run back to church or whatever and and you never know how long people are gonna be in it man you know what i'm saying and be open and and things like that so you've been here man and you've just been kind of growing and going deeper and i think that that you get it i think that it's not separate from who you are or your faith or what you bring to the table it's all the same thing and once you get that then there is this um freedom to explore the mystic side of our faith which is probably ninety percent of our faith you know ninety percent of it i mean it's like dark matter i mean they say that dark matter is ninety percent the matter that we know that's the matter that we know that we talk about and the only reason they call it dark matter is because they don't understand it but it's all around us and yeah this thing is all around us man so yeah to act like we we own it or we've got it all figured out we got pieces of it man and it may be a really good piece that we bring to the table but to act like we have exclusivity we've lost it you know and so the beauty in that and seeing a lot of people opening up to that um is amazing and so you know i appreciate your journey too man where you're at and your your progress and you know humility it's been a it's been a fun ride man it's been a fun ride and uh you know there's there's an old saying that says you know take god seriously don't take yourself seriously uh you know being able to look at yourself and laugh at yourself and realize you know it's it is a two steps forward three steps back sometimes it's a cha cha-cha-cha man it's a dance you know you get ahead and then you look at some things that you realize oh i was really tripping off of that and let me pull back you know and and then let me move forward ahead some people think that this walk with god is this straight trajectory on up but in reality i think it grows like a vine where it's just it's just here and there but but there's growth all along and before you know it there is this upward phase and then there may be this sideways but the whole time it's this vine that's growing and growing and growing and uh that's what i want to be a part of i want to be connected to the vine now um you know since you've you know become more more more mystical oriented more open i guess i would say um has the scriptures opened up to you even more now that you kind of see it in a in a more mystical light and and yes yes so much i mean think of proper proverbs proverbs said this about wisdom wisdom being personified said that if you keep your commands the father's commands if you if you hold on to your mother's teaching then those teachings will person will personify and it says they'll speak to you in the morning okay like what you just said a minute ago is that 90 of this is mystical it is but we have a convenient way of just kind of talking it down and talking it into it trying to fit into our everyday life or making it too mystical where it doesn't fit our everyday life yeah that's the other extreme yeah where it's so you know jesus told me to get strawberry jelly instead of grape jelly this morning and so you know i didn't have any strawberry jelly so all is lost i mean it's like come on man you know so fine finding that balance and i think proverbs and ecclesiastes talked about that he's like yeah yeah and and when i first read this as a teenager i i tripped out because it said you know don't try to be too too ratchet but at the same time don't try to be too holy you could find that in ecclesiastes and when i found that i was like what hold up hold up i thought i got to be as hard go hard as i can and being you know all out holiness and this is the thing there have been times in my life where i have i've gone straight out and and i found myself unbalanced like elijah if you remember the elijah's story where he got depressed because he was like i'm the only one that's on fire for god that loves god nobody else loves god and god was like fool i got 5 000 that haven't bowed their knee to bail they don't even care about bill they trying to hear bill and they're not intimidated the problem is you don't know them you can't see them yeah you can't see them but i see them yeah you got to remind yourself that and like you said i mean that's a veil that we passed through you know i've been there and and many people have been there it leads to this uh realm of militant you know being a militant christian or having to like you know what what comes after that like you know they're being short with people having the truth and um you know a lot a lot of stuff but it's a veil you pass through man and it's when you make it if you make it out the other end you know not everybody does but when you do i feel like you're more grounded you're more considerate you're more open to hear other people's perspectives and stories and those kind of things and you genuine genuinely care yeah i noticed when i was in that place and i was like when i was in high school okay i gave my life to the lord at in the ninth grade so and i was coming from california raised half my life in south california san francisco at that time so i came from you know grade school middle school california so i was this california kid i come to texas back to texas and i'm in texas and trying to figure life out and i'm this kid that now i have this california accent i'm in the deep you know down in texas and everybody's making fun of the way i talk and who i am and and and all of that and i felt like i did not fit in again right and so now being this misfit uh i give my life to christ and i get on fire for god i was that kid that carried the family bible to high school like i got i got so fired upon folks cap bus caps on me every day because i was i had a deep conviction that every day i must witness to somebody witness witness witness i would go out in the streets and just see mere strangers and begin preaching the gospel talking to him i was on fire but this is the one thing that i had to really recognize is that in quiet moments i was very lonely i was lonely and i kept looking at like why am i so lonely i mean i have jesus and i have that peace and and it's crazy you can get into a there's an old gospel song it's called as long as i got king jesus i don't need nobody else and that sounds good but honestly i don't think it's theologically sound because the truth is as long as you got king jesus he's going to implement you he's going to use you to throw you into connections with others because as long as you got king jesus he wants you to connect with everybody else man i'll tell you what but you get into this i don't need nobody and you get lonely and and that loneliness is a terrible it's an ugly place yeah it's uh it's being able to connect with that inner light and you and i mean there's times for that because you know that this walk at times gets lonely you know um let's say um but it's it doesn't last you know there are times i speak about that a lot of my music about these times of of separation to be taught of the lord or like mo just going up the mountain by himself right there is this place of quiet place or being taught and learning and shutting everything down so there's definitely uh you know those seasons that come but but to think that that's where we stay at when nobody understands us and we're the only ones and and those kind of things like people people stay there you know and it's a weird place it really is and so but we're not we're definitely not called to stay there or be on this weird pedestal and high horse if you will to think that we're the only ones um you know going through it right yeah that that that place is it's intoxicating if we think about it i mean it's just i mean you think about this image this idea of you know i we are the only ones i am the only one and if you get if you if you if you don't pay attention to the the social cues if you don't pay attention to your soul recognizing your own loneliness and that i think is part of spirit calling you back into connection with others yeah if you deny that and just go off yeah you you get away from it but but after a while what starts happening you start losing your people skills you start learning now how not to connect with others and only if someone could connect on your level and see things the way you see them and and all of that and that's cute at first it's attractive at first but it gets old after a while and um i know my my uh my great uncle so my mother's uncle led me to christ and discipled me uh and he was like king james only dude right so i mean i memorized 80 of scripture in king james he discipled me face to face i mean just going in i was the kid like i said carrying a family bible to school so our bible studies was like tuesdays thursdays and saturdays two hours of bible study in the scripture we were in it right and we loved it but i'll tell you this one thing that i knew about my uncle was that he was a man of god loved the word loved the lord but socially if i can honestly look back he socially didn't get along with people and and much of his the way he came across was very dogmatic like the lord is the best if you can't get with the lord you can't get with me you know and that whole thing and it was weird and where i tell you where it turned and it got weird like i had started noticing a pattern that every time i got with my uncle there's three things that we were going to always talk about because it was a pattern we're going to talk about jesus we're going to talk about white people and we're going to talk about homosexuals and just to give you a hint jesus was the only one that got a good rap in that conversation and walking away from it once again saying feeling my own soul after a while that pattern got old it didn't it didn't feel good it didn't taste good i i maybe growing up outside of the south i knew white people that weren't all quote unquote white folks you know that acted like this act like growing up in a a diverse city like california san francisco i know people who chose alternative lifestyles who aren't evil people and so i i had that place where i had to say you know that's just my uncle i don't know if that's jesus that's just him i know right it's okay for that's just to be him but but i had to personally say i got to grow out of that i could i i can treat all people a lot better the way they deserve to be treated yeah and then it gets to this weird place of you know evolving from that and then we have to go down this road to too deep but you know it's like people have those conversations yeah i got gay friends i like gay people but they still the idea that those gay people are gonna die and go to hell what's the hell wide open you know what i'm saying so so so you have to look at them like a in a condescending way you know and not as an equal you know what i'm saying and so i i have friends who are still there um maybe you know i was probably there several years ago and um but uh you know i got friends who are still there and and we're not really we're not tight anymore because of that i get it i mean they're on that they're on abortion they're on all of this and they want me to proclaim it from my podcast and i'm like not no but hell no you do it look at your own podcast and proclaim it from that platform you know it's like i feel you okay i i i still call myself a pr i am a preacher it's who i am it's what i you know started back in the day the mind the name of my rap group was preachers in disguise i was preaching and rap rapping and preaching disguise i will probably always be a preacher yeah so i got preacher friends who expect me the same way to to preach against homosexuality i never heard y'all say jesus one time in that conversation yes and all of that and and and uh it's it's refreshing to me to be able to come out of that and see life from wider perspectives yeah uh and it's always a challenge to go back into the inner circle where it's that baseball talk of theology you know it's like we we're trading baseball cards we're talking about these little theological concepts that is just so don't matter yeah that is like why are we doing this you know and so i i i'm notorious of throwing just like you did you said right there throwing a hell doll in there or something just to throw it off because yeah that's there's a bigger world there's a yeah and god loves the entire cosmos yes he's he's not regular regulated to one baseball team well you were uh you know talking about how these we we get in this play i say these people but we've we're talking about ourselves you know a version of ourselves that existed and maybe still there somewhere where like you know we we feel like we're the only ones and and all that kind of stuff and i feel like that i mentioned it last night but i feel like that's birthed out of narcissism and what we call the messiah complex yeah like i have the revelation i'm gonna save my friends i'm gonna save everyone and then you find out you can't save any of them and none of them will listen and they all think you're crazy you know and so and then now what you know there's that you know i remember those bible tracks now what now that you're a christian do you remember those now what yes i remember them those are so cool hack tracks what you talking about i have my six top ten tracks you remember the chick tracks you better they look like the little cartoons yeah do you know about the scary ones with demons yes i used to rock those joints man you could but you can buy you can get them for free i think on the website we they just give them to you they're scary dude like around here somewhere around here i got one of the tracks that talk about how cheesy bro i had one that was a fake twenty dollar bill oh yeah that's that's what that's where church was messed up for real when they started doing that leaving it as a team a person that was serving me or something like that you know a diner or something like that or a restaurant and and i walked away thinking oh i just gave them the greatest gift and it wasn't until i got into bible school i went to bible school at 16 years old and i got into bible school and my roommate actually worked as a server you know as someone that worked tables and he said my worst people to get are christians yeah i remember hearing that yeah the worst tippers first tipper argumentative demanding yeah yeah yeah and i just realized okay we got to do better when we when you know better i've been doing i've been making sure that i do better um with that for sure um tipping and um really generous tipping uh todd white talks about even when he goes out he does a lot of eating out but he says that um he won't go out to eat unless he can at least double his tip and give double and uh and so he says he he but he he reiterates that you know christians are the worst um people to serve when you're going out to eat because because of all those things yeah yeah well i think that some so much of what we we are we love the whole spiritual side of things and we forget the importance of the everyday the importance of the common that we we leave it out and this is to me was the beauty of the story that we get of jesus john who was to my opinion a hippie of the first century uh he saw such deep revelation in the way he described jesus he said he was this perfect balance of grace and truth he just what he held both sides perfectly to where yeah he could he could preach and heal a multitude of people and then go to a wedding and dance and get some wine and didn't have a problem with either one to everybody else it seemed contradictory but he was he was good with himself yeah and that's what we have to learn is how to be gentle and how to be good with ourselves yeah that's huge man um well i want to um talk about your new project man so you started out as a gospel rapper in the early days yeah christian rap in the early days of christian rap and then uh and now you're coming back with a meditation album that you're working on now and trying to raise some funds for to help complete that thing you want to talk a little bit about that sure sure i'd love to uh what the project is called is the sacred hum uh and the idea behind it of course is that uh i said it like this we all hum we all hum we all have and humming is not just making a sound but it really is finding your voice and the one thing that the designation that makes humans distinct uh is our ability to communicate through our vocals and in the so the idea of the hum is that there's this divine spark that as we hum i mean you hum and and they actually say that because of the cavities and the way that your skull is crea is is made and your ear lobes that that like it's almost like a speaker system your whole head and so when you hum there is a distinct frequency that only you make that nothing else in creation makes your specific hum and when you look at that and then realize that there is a part of all of us that's sacred and put both of those together the idea i wanna i wanna do this i wanna take uh the beautiful uh idea of of uh sacred ideas and concepts and and i call it the science of religion meditation chanting uh singing all of those are things that you do that that really take you it like trans state they translate you and teach you into a deeper higher state and when you so when you do those and point them upward and when you point them vertically uh as well as horizontally you discover the sacred and so i want to take hip-hop and meditation and allow those two to blend together and meet and dance and uh so it's been it's been beautiful man to uh do it uh it's been a good long time coming i decided that before i did it i wanted to practice it and so i practiced for probably three years of of meditation and sticking new meditation which mind you uh for for probably 10 years i have preached about the importance of solitude meditation and all of that and i was doing a sermon series i'll never forget it because i you know you know you know how we do we hood i'm a hood preacher so so i would always have these different sermons so i did a sermon called the five fingers of death which of course you you karate fans know that that is a cult karate movie five fingers of death and my five fingers you know things like distraction busyness blah blah blah blah and so i said the the antidote to one of the just of the five fingers of death one of the five poisons was meditation and so as i'm preaching on this one sunday morning i felt that the holy spirit just snapped and slept he upside my head you know with love but he hit me up and he kicked me in my ass okay and said you're talking about this but why aren't you practicing it because you're only talking about it yeah and so i committed to start doing it it took me probably about six to seven months to to get you know to doing it 10 minutes a day and then i'm moved from 10 minutes to 20 minutes 20 minutes to 30 minutes to you know and so so it's been a good three four four five years but it was about three four years ago it was right about the time that i ran into you that i said okay i'm committing 30 minutes every day and so here's the beauty of all of this it's like as you enter into that place just like all spiritual journeys things just start blooming and opening up and uh and it came all the way to this that i get a chance to marry these two uh things that i love meditation and hip-hop and uh that's the sacred hump what what are some of the benefits uh for you know i'm saying meditation and and is there levels to it for you um is there a short meditation is there deep where like we talk about you know being taught by christ the holy spirit angels any of that kind of verbiage have you experienced any of that kind of stuff yeah yes i have uh the the whole idea of meditation i think now that i look back at it um who was it i think oh gosh the guy there was a there's a uh uh a reggae song uh and i'm trying to remember the group that did they did a song that's called chant a psalm a day chant of psalm a day and they said moses he did chan chan abraham he did chan chad david he did and and i remember singing listening to that and dancing with my wife in puerto rico for her birthday and we was chat to somebody and once again it's like the holy spirit was like do you hear what i'm saying do you hear what i'm saying chant and as i start studying i realize yes all of the greats all of those folks in the scripture in the bible all of them did it and and it's a part of our heritage it's a part of our human uh just right to to to reflect back to where we came from through chanting through humming through meditation through being still and and then that stillness yes it can happen in a minute or that minute could be just like the scripture says a day with the lord is a thousand years and a thousand years is one day there is this place of timelessness that you get into it now does that take it takes time it takes work you ask a question is there levels there are levels just like prayer you know some so much of this i remember i did a series on prayer and the holy spirit once again you know hey you're talking about praying most of my people are praying about praying but they're not actually praying they're talking about it and and all of that and so shift that and actually do it so the actual practice of it it's it's just like you know hitting a tennis ball for the first time it feels cool it's like boom you get a good solid hit and now you think you're professional you know because you got it across the net but to be able to continue to do it over and over again you refine something that's already real something that's already divine and already precious and so that refining takes a lifetime that refining takes a lifetime and there are moments there are seasons yeah and i've i've faced a lot of good seasons i have seasons of deliverance deep deliveries i've had seasons where i've known angels have been with me i've had seasons where i've i've i've felt get escaping out of my body i've had my first time stepping like like feeling that jumping out of my body i said okay hold up wait a minute let me put some slow down in it okay and i i pull back and when i pull back once again this is now this is me this is me i felt the holy spirit smiling and laughing at me it was like yeah you want some of that but but it's a little bit more than what you're ready for huh and i was like yeah what i wasn't like i literally felt me shoot to the corner of the room and i was like i'm in the corner of the room crap i came back in my body and and from what i read from what i hear and remember guys you know go back to john's when john and first john that's how he opened his whole book that which we've heard that which we have seen that which we have handled with our hands concerning the words of life if you're not practicing it it's almost like they talked about bebop back in the day if you if if you don't know what it is you don't know what it is yeah but if you know that swing and you know what they mean when they say now it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing that swing comes from practice and being in it and once you're in it there is this sense of fellowship that those that practice you know it's you know you know yeah yeah i know right you you start knowing and you start exploring and learning and then there's still so much to learn there's so much more to explore it never gets old kind of thing you know right right and then we write books on it and then we feel like we're experts but then we still just crack in the circle scratching the surface you know just scratching the surface yeah yeah something and i think you know the whole uh writing writing the books on it and you would probably you could probably really experience and and resonate with this uh i enjoyed your book bro that you put out and it was about just a year ago right and and and think about where you were when you when you did the last like when you did the end the last sentence where you were in your journey and then of course all of the work it took to get it out and all of that and and now you're completely somewhere else down the road you're completely somewhere else and you're like i got something else new i can't wait to get it out and so what's beautiful when we read books and when we hear stories we we try to connect and identify with where people are so that they kind of interlace with our journey but but it's not meant to be stagnant it's not meant to just stay in one spot because that then all of a sudden it turns from from momentum to memorial and once it's a memorial i think that's why the the to me the science the the philosophy behind the do not have any graven image of me because graven think of the word gravity it's something that pulls it all the way back down to the earth and it's just stuck there i remember once i was jogging in colorado and as i was jogging i looked to the side and it was in the corner of my eye and i freaked the heck out because there was this wolf that was right there and i jumped and i jumped back and i was like oh snap it's a wolf and then when i looked again because it was just the corner of my eye it was a statue of a wolf but the statue of the wolf was in motion right and that's what i think what happens many times is we capture a snapshot of the divine in motion and then we write all about it we talk all about it when i saw it i laughed i was like that's just that's just a statue i went over and start playing with it i looked at it it didn't even scare me no more i tripped out how fearful i was just 20 seconds prior and that's when i felt the holy spirit slipped in and said you see why i don't want a graven image because all of a sudden you get used to it you can play with it it doesn't mean that much you know how to wait work your way around it but when i'm dynamic to you and when i'm alive and powerful and sharper and quicker than anything that can divide between thought and and and intention now we're tracking together and so that's what i think that that that the divine wants with all of us is that live dynamic uh yeah interact yeah i um yeah you know i wrote about that the the uh symbols and you know saying monuments and being reminded the reminders you know what i'm saying but yeah bringing god down to a stationary you know something that's always moving and being like the wind and being able to follow um there's a difference there you know even with churches and services and sermons and this is where this is god's house you know that kind of kind of thing too it's like we got them we caught them in a box our religion is god in the box you know our tenants and precepts and uh formulas on how to do all of this and that's why it gets old because it's ever moving ever changing and you never you never reach the the height the depth of the breath of it you know god's love and and and how to commune and interact with with the divine so that's the beautiful thing we always got to be apt and open and anytime you park you i think you've missed it we've got some good pointers we've got some reflections and things and things that work and we can encourage people but you got to be open for that following that sacred hum man and being able to tap in and ride it out you know where it wherever it leads here in the chat your your wife's uh watching with us live and uh gives you a shout out are you watching what what what i'm so proud of you she says that's my baby man we've been married this year we celebrated 30 years dude wow 30 years of being married i found the love of my life i honestly did i ain't gonna keep on talking about because i'm start crying [Laughter] i'm celebrating 20 this year man go ahead man that's beautiful bro that's beautiful yeah that's what's up yeah this is something about um you know just being able to do that life and and and i love your uh your your analogy like you say about that that symbols i think i think all symbols are starting points that's all it is as a starting point now think about it's a reminder it's a reminder it's a starting point think about the idea of track if you ever ran track you got a starting point you got that starting block a symbol is simply a starting block now once the once they pop and it's time to run if you're stuck on start you're missing the whole point of being in the race that's the starting point is to help launch you forward so you can go forward but if you just stuck no i'm just going to stay here i just love this starting block you know i've never seen a starting block this is like this is so good it's like why would you call why were you called down to the racetrack anyway use the symbol to be that starting block to launch you so you can go forward because there's so much god is inexhaustible so he's like let's let's let's let's learn together let's play it again yeah um man speaking back more about the about about the music you hit me up and i know you you you're really into my music i appreciate you know yes being able to discuss my music with people who get it i've only had a couple of those conversations where people quote my lyrics or even ask me about lyrics like i love that but it doesn't happen a lot but you've like broke down my lyrics and studying them as a student to really like take your writing process to the next level and kind of break down some of my formulas and things that i say man talk a little bit about that because that was really interesting man well it was it was fun when i when i what was it three four years ago when i heard about you and saw what you were doing uh my particular uh playpen you know my sandbox started out in christian hip-hop and when we first started we was rapping like about you know of course the scripture says you know if a person brags let him brag on god right and so we was talking about you know the lord is my shepherd wanting i don't do he's never leaving them forsaken sticking like crazy glue you know it you know it was that was back in the late 80s early 90s right and then i saw the trajectory i saw hip-hop grow and i saw you know folks get you know i saw myself growing hip-hop and and got more complex and all of that uh when i ran into you probably about four or five years ago i started looking at your discography and i was just so pleased like like because i i think that so much of what christian hip-hop uh and i know you started in christian hip-hop as well uh it it it got limited to how many ways you can talk about you know doctrine we got into rhyming about doctrine and and all that and that that's good don't i love it still love it like people like the guys like the cross movements or some of them like charlene was one of the ones who stood out charlene yes and and me being this old i'm 54 years old just turned 54. so all these guys are my my babies to me are they my grandbabies you know i love them all and so i don't have no quorum against them however i really recognize there's room right and so to run into someone who is such a student of hip-hop as yourself derek i thought this dude he studies it he it's not just it's not he's not a fan he's not or not just a fan he's moved beyond just a fan he's moved beyond that this is just a hobby this this i can listen to your rhymes and realize that it's an unconscious habit it ain't even a hobby that you get you know i feel like rhyming today no bro if i cut you you don't bleed hip-hop you're going to do that because that's what's in you but what i also love is i recognized also like i hear the word coming it just ooze it comes out of you right and so that mixture then especially for me my whole personal affinity like i said my sandbox started in the christian rap group rap world and i started on this journey toward mysticism and a broader brush and looking at more you have that almost like a triangle like three like a stool like three different legs you have scripture you have tradition what i mean in hip-hop you know and study hip-hop you know and study scripture but then this third leg of real-time experience which to me is mysticism real-time experience not just what they used to talk about not just about what may could happen in one of these days glad mornings in the mile fly away no like with god right now and with so so so so i was just intrigued by your vocabulary i really was and so i was like when i was feeling challenged to get back into hip-hop i wanted to be stretched so so so to me uh it's like if i could say it in terms of like listening to a jazz person if i'm playing the horn and i really want to play the horn i'm going to sit and listen to bird disney gillespie cole train why because i want them to stretch me right so i'm saying all that i told you i'm a preacher i do this all the time say all that to say this i said all that say this bro you stretched me i mean who can bring a rhyme out about a plate the palladian you know uh as well as about corinthians you know oh and and and seamlessly jump between the two as if you intimately are connected to both of them that that right there i was like i i just start studying your stuff and start listening to it to this day one of my favorite tracks my favorite all-time tracks you've done is i am i think that was just the pinnacle i was like this dude here so i'm going to let me confess to the truth seeker crowd what i did i just started like trolling all of your lyrics i literally found i went on genius i went on google i found all the lyrics you did i put them all in one word document and then i just started like how many times does he say this how many times he said and it was just so intriguing to see the work dude the work that you put in and and for that alone i was like i have to give this cat respect and uh as as well as as i was so so if i'm if i'm if i love playing the horn and i'm listening to dizzy then i'm gonna riff off of what dizzy is doing now dizzy did his thing he put it on record but i got the record i can listen to the record and i can play some dizzy gillespie and i could uh uh saw peanut sauce but i could put my own twist to it and i'm not trying to be like dizzy but i'm trying to let what inspired dizzy land a little bit on me and that's what i was trying to do and have been involved with and uh i'm telling you some of y'all that true secret sauce student a student of the seeker the true secret sauce boy you put some of that true secret sausage dude i don't have a lot of people that uh you know that i've talked to about you know about my music and can be like man when you said that i know where you were i don't you know there's people who get it i don't hear a lot of it they say how much my music means to them and you know a spiritual awakening and they tell me kind of the effects of it but actually you know getting into what what i said and and rhyming there was one a shout out to a friend of mine shield in in india he's done a couple album reviews on mine and i listened to him and i'm like wow he gets it yeah like he gets because he's like he's not just saying hey it's it's music means he's like breaking down why it means a lot and going through and so i appreciate you know this conversation or whatever man because i i you know identify with that music it really means a lot to me and uh to to you know just to there's different levels you know that we talk about levels to how it affects different people some in passing they just like it some it makes them think some of it scares some people right other people they're like man there's something more all of this is connected again how can you jump from kundalini to holy spirit to pranayama to cheat like all and like what is there a connection there or is it he just you know some people think we're just throwing words together right some people would think we're just taking mystical terms and just throwing them out there and nothing's connected and so it's different for for different people man so i appreciate you know that that respect and and and that conversation man you know yes but you know i i was just uh with uh one of my uh coaches and mentors and he talked about the importance and i think this came from um what's the kid that did rich kid which kid rich dad poor dad uh okay that kid carlos i forgot his name but that dude uh japanese yeah william cat and and he talked about this he he called making sure that what you bring to the table is dicey dicey is what he called it dicey and dicey is an acronym is uh d-i-c-e-e and what dicey means is that it's deep for d i is indulgent c is complete e is elegant and the last is emotive i'll say it again is it dicey and what he was saying is is it deep it it doesn't have depth to it one of the the the theologians talked about uh the book of john and and it's become famous people have said it for years and john does this he has this ability and this is the type of stuff that only comes from the soul where you know touched by the divine the uh the theologian commented commented on the book of john is that the book of john is deep enough for an elephant to swim in yet shallow enough for a baby to wade in it and it has that transcendent feature to it right uh you can you can come to it and get John 3 16 and you good you know and walk away or you can go in deeper and get you know John 8 36 you know or or 672 you know whatever and just and it's like oh he or even go to John 3 16 when i first read John 3 16 at 15 years old now at 54 years old it's it's deep enough for an elephant to swim and i still haven't touched the bottom up right so it's deep but then it's also indulgent so the more i can get into it it just has layers and you can unfold those layers right but it's complete so it's not unwanting and it's elegant and and then it's emotive in the end it moves you to something you know and uh i laugh derek i'm telling you one of my favorite boys that you do on your rhyme is when you do your cha you know that child it's like it's like you're doing that what they do now because because that is you saying so much more in the chop you saying what they used to say back in the 80s with the hoo right i i i got a rhyme that i did in the in 2000 i said give a hoo-ha and tareen's get smithered when i put it down give a hoo ha cause that's what they used to do back in the day they were saying so much more don't you realize that spiritual transfer that spiritual transfer dude we just thought it was cool and we laced it with some adidas and put a kango on it it was like huh but it was like no it was so much more and and so when you do your cha i'll be like there he go with your child yeah it's cool because do your child yeah it's cool because it's also like god's name like yeah you know what i'm saying yeah come on man so it's like at the same time we're putting we're putting you know that ya in there too so yes you are that's that dicey man it's it could be just enough it's enough as an accent but there's so much more to it you know and uh that's what i mean about the divine you know i got i guess from my my song golden teachers i'm lost within the mystery but found within simplicity and so there's both dynamics to the scriptures and there should be that dynamic to our music as well and so yes um and i've said this many times that's what i really enjoy doing is taking really deep concepts that i've read out of you know the book of enoch or secret teachings of all ages by mainly p hall taking this really deep stuff and then breaking and explaining it really simple right and then taking really simple concepts such as prayer meditation fasting and making them sound really deep and esoteric which they are and there's both qualities in everything so there's a beauty in going really deep or or shallow and i and and with that too i've also noticed that um a lot of my stuff is is i'll describe i and with that is that prayer let's just take prayer i'm describing prayer you know just like in in my song flight of the navigator hypnotic agnostics researching the records akashic and start here in the temple i'ma lay prostrate like the mystic seers and the prophets so i'm kind of like explaining this way of prayer then you just start describing it like what's happening and then i go on to say i begin to sweat and feel the heat increase there's life in my tongue probably when i speak i feel it move from my head down to my feet as i'm ascending the ladder the weight of his glory i never did fathom so we're like something as simple as filling the holy spirit now we can spend days and hours explaining that what's happening like i'm getting deliverance from this jolt of energy from heaven that is coming from above me or within me right and so artistically just like explaining it and describing all of the sensations i'm getting chills and my hair stands up on his edges and and god hears it and he receives the prayers and then i light a stick of incense and it carries the prayer and like really just going deep on prayer and something so simple right and it's the whole time you've been just talking it's like i this whole time i've just been talking about prayer yeah and then correct ain't not crazy i'm just talking about prayer but it's like you're not just talking about it you are bringing it to like you you're bringing it to us to where we're visualizing it yeah i love that rhyme that you did about simplicity with so let me give you uh a 80s version of what i did 20 years ago that same concept now it's concept so so you brought it into a whole new brand new school but i did a rhyme back in the 80s late 80s early 90s this is our rhymes are simple sometimes it complex it's like whatever's clever who wants to be next you know and same point but it's just re-presenting when you represent you re-presenting yeah and so it's the whole idea of re-presenting and and finding those ways to do it and when you find folks that can put it in lyrical form um uh it's just it's it's beautiful what happens i'm i'm thinking of um so lyric that i did about the whole idea of of of of the hum right and i said it's the hum have you noticed it uh sitting in the lotus get quiet calm the cognizant pull in the oxygen and just hold it in stay inside the moment it'll take you where you're supposed to get you know the effect is like a barbiturate without the addictiveness that the barbs hit you with you know so so it's like it's like finding their their proverbs it says a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold and setting of silver when it just flows and rolls off the tongue it has a way of staying with you and and and we we never would we would not have scripture like there there's scripture does this and i think that's the the pull the divine pull that we get in scripture because when you look at something like Proverbs 31 or different psalms that are actually acronyms that take the whole alphabet hebrew alphabet and it's like who had time to do that you know when you look at a lot of the church fathers tertullian and all of those cats they wrote thousands of books you know what today we we this is what i think we're doing we've gotten so much into consumer mode that we've neglected the creator side of who we are yeah and so that's why i love so much what you've the work that you've put in because it's like you've tapped into that creator side which i resonate with that's like because i have a creator side that's like yeah i can get with that i can get down with that that inspires me to do something and then boom we keep the move we keep re-presenting we keep representing we keep representing the story over and over and over again it's good um i think i think the majority of my stuff is like worship music you know calling myself a christian artist but it really is about worshiping and i guess worship gets deeper as you become a mystic you find out that just breathing is worship you know it's a position of the heart being prostrated and your attention your focus and your thoughts in between the thoughts you know everything is worship everything that we do and so um there's a lot of that in my music there's a lot of straight up just worship tunes thrown in there and hip hop songs and worship courses and i heard a song um this is a band that that i really like but i heard the song like this past week and i was like man that rem it reminds me of of of my lyrics and i would just read some of this this is the band fly leaf um but they got a song called all around me but uh and it's just like as i read this i'm thinking of worship music and many of them worship me they're describing what's taking place yeah i need you more more than yesterday like this place of like our connection with god but she says here in his lyrics he says my hands are searching for you so in worship my hands are searching for you my arms are outstretched towards you i feel you on my fingertips my tongue dances behind my lips for you there's a fire rising through my being burning i'm not used to seeing you i'm alive i'm alive i can feel you all around me thickening the air i'm breathing holding on to what i'm feeling savoring that this heart that's healing i'm like wow you're just like i feel like it's a very similar wordplay of just like hey i'm just worshiping i'm just singing to god and i'm describing the sensations of what's taking place man and so and that just draws you in like you reading that and i'm sitting up in my mind thinking who would not want that experience mm-hmm who who wouldn't want that who would deny that and just say oh i don't take all of that maybe it don't take all of that for you but i'm like it's enticing i guess it's inviting when i when i when i smell like you know go by burger king i smell the smoke everything else it'd be told me it's time yeah and when i when i sense the the spirit when i sense someone that loves the divine like that it it it only entices me to say yeah i wanna i wanna love the divine just like that that's a testimony you know and that's the thing i think that's one thing that that you can appreciate in my audience and is that you know testimony is what somebody's experienced it's available for you not just me i'm not the prophet i don't i've seen some really interesting things in my life in the spirit world that even cross over into the physical but i don't think i'm special i think that's for everybody like as much as you want it so let me put that in the song and invite you to taste and see that the lord is good invite you to spend some time in meditation and prayer and those kind of things so that you can have those same experiences and so uh it's real and you can tell that and i told you i've said this many times like there's people that i've i've read similar lyrics from not christians i'll tell you that so i think there's a difference there but the mystical guys who rap about a lot of deep esoteric philosophy but when it comes to like practical or experiencing it they're just repeating stuff that they heard and that was a huge letdown for me that they're talking about meeting angels in the spirit world i'm like yes sign me up you know and then and then i talk to them i call into a show and i become friends with these guys you know people i looked up to and they're like nah man i never had that happen i've never seen the ufo i've never i don't even meditate i've never meditated i was like dude you got six songs about meditating meditation dude this is weird you know what i'm saying so there's like a lot of imposters that let me down man so when you get my music i kind of like that's experiences i'm articulating them there is creativity there are there's word play you know there's a lot of that stuff going on but it definitely comes from a place of experience man you know and and it's available for everyone yeah goes back to that like what john old man john said that which we have heard that which we have seen that which we have handled it's like we've practiced this thing it's not just that we're talking about it and you gotta imagine back in his day i mean that was the arrive the rise first century of the church you know it was all kinds of people coming out of the box and coming out of all kind of corners saying well he's over here he's over there and you know and you got it indulging all this stuff in the field and it was it was all over the place but john was just like look this is my is not just some sli i'm not trying to talk slick to you this is real for me to the point that i'll i'll lay down my life for it uh and i i now this is the dude that laid his head on his chest john john the night he was betrayed one of jesus's worst nights of his human experience and existence he had a close friend that was just leaning on him and got close enough to since his heartbeat and i don't think he was ever the same and he was forever chasing that dragon he was forever chasing that high he was forever trying to come back to that to the point that when it was time for him as an old old man to talk to the new next generation he just said this is something that i've practiced and i want to give to you out of my practice not out of my intellect not of my slickness you know but out of my interesting d you know what just kind of blows my mind because i'm you know i'm big on talking about like communing with um your leaders or the great cloud of witnesses from beyond the grave like there's some interesting things in the bible about that yes it is every other tradition believes that your teachers continue to teach you from beyond the grave i'll show you how star wars goes into that but the interesting thing like that we can be taught by jesus or john maybe i don't know um there's people who claim it um definitely by christ we're being taught by christ but just think of i'm the picture of um obi-wan being led by yoda saying listen i'm going to teach you how to commune with someone who taught you from the other side i'm going to teach you how to commune with qui-gon jinn and uh and and so he he knew qui-gon jinn and this is from star wars he knew him in the flesh that was his his teacher and so i'm thinking of john in the scriptures like they walked with christ yes in the physical like you know they they were taught by him they loved they literally put his head on his chest so they knew him in the flesh now in their lifetime see we haven't known him in the flesh but they did and so they're learning how to commune with his spirit oh my god from the other side like someone who existed with them told them jokes laughed at their jokes got on to them but these they were friends and they weren't but he's so called you know died or crossed over and so they're learning to commune with someone who was like a good friend of theirs really interesting to think about imagine like like let's do a thought experiment imagine being around a campfire eating some fish of course cause fish was their favorite red dish but without the money is still a wish okay so they was eating fish around campfire right and maybe peter says something and he says it in a certain tone that they know that that wasn't peter that was peter probably reminiscing or maybe even making fun of how jesus said something and then john said yes i saw and then all of them like just laughing before they dispersed out before they went out all of them remembering how and what he said and it's like yeah they they had it they they knew it they knew him they knew i would love to be next to that fire campfire man that's just that's weird to think about you know yeah it's kind of emotional it's deeply emotional because i can imagine them like because here's my point my my uh we we just went and celebrated my aunt my great-aunt's 87th birthday this past weekend her husband was the man that led me to christ when we all get together we all mimic him because he was his own personality very dogmatic very much himself so we all mimic and so if we say something a certain way all of us know it's time to make fun of ideally beloved who we lost yeah and so we don't even have to say his name but once i say something like that and then somebody else say something and then we go into what i call the win wheeze you know what the windways are right remember when we was there and remember when we was that and we are time doesn't exist we are caught up in the remembrance of him right and so we all have that so i know that they had jokes and the ways that jesus said stuff and like they just and they held that but i wonder where that connects with though because like like i'm saying that like i'm getting emotional to think about it they're sitting around the fire and they're like man you remember when jesus used to do this man you remember he always used to you remember when jesus did this man yeah man but it's like but you don't talk to him talk about him like he's not there you know what i'm saying because he's there like he's like his spirit the holy spirit like is with them and they still have connection with him so i wonder even how that conversation really took place does he show up in apparition you know what i'm saying or move up on their hearts or something you know 24 he walked through the wall and was with him you know so i can imagine that that really did shift the way they could not have been just like how he was at least not after the the moment you know where peter and all of them went fishing and jesus gave him that fishman that that fish breakfast in the morning you know and you know wow they they they were like he's still here he's here he's here and i can imagine them invoking enough of what he said to the point where they knew oh he's here oh he's here i haven't you done that before you you you just know when you shift into a trans state and he is like he's in the room and it's almost like paul i don't know if i was in the spirit or i was up there or he was down here i i don't know i can't tell yeah i don't know well i mean it gets you know when you're connected to him you start talking about him there he is there he is there he is well he said you know when when two or three are gathered you know there i am i am and that that's the beauty that uh my heart hopefully i i would love to capture a a starting point a starting block in this project the sacred hum and help people just use it as a starting block to experience him yeah it's like that that campfire experience just has not died i think we've just dressed it up in church and we've tried unfortunately and i i got to be honest i think we've tried to co-op it and say it's only church but i like how you talk about you know you hear you hear the traces of the divine in secular lyrics i do too i mean one of my favorite favorite is george clinton with the rhythm it takes to dance to what we have to live through you can dance underwater and not get wet if that's not divine if that's not inspired just take time to meditate on that with the rhythm it takes to dance to what we have to live through yeah you can dance on the water and not get wet that's it that's it art art the beauty of just uh so much that and and and i i think that there is this call now and that's the call i think of the mystics because in in all of the mystic perennial traditions the mystics they see each other and get it you know they like everybody else can argue over you know you can't play with my ball you can't play with my bad you can't play with my equipment i'm the only one that can have it the mystics is like let's just go off the field and go play because it's real it's there and we all share in the what peter the mystic peter he said it well he said we have we are partakers in the divine nature we share we share in god's divinity this mystery yeah in this mystery man man that's good um and chris garner i'm paying attention to the chat as well chris garner says there's a scripture that says who giveth to all men and unbradeth not there you go give us give us to all men and that's an interesting word study you know if you got a bible dictionary or an e-sword to type in all men you know i will off i will pour out my spirit on all flesh yeah um uh christ is the light that lighteth every man oh man that cometh into the world you know what i'm saying and so this thing we start looking at people where there's god but that's not god this is god this isn't man it's like god is more inclusive than we thought man and there's a special blessing in it i believe once we're able to get through our own isms and schisms and containers like god is only in the cup that's one thing to talk about like god being in a box like this we will use a cup so god is we put god in a cup right there's a little bit of coffee left over in my ren and stimpy cup uh god is the cup well god's in the cup he said no god's not in the cup god's not in your box god is the box god is the cup and you said then you set it down and you're like no god's not the cup god is also the table that your cup is sitting platforming the cup yes and then he's he's the house that the table is in and then he is the earth that the house is built upon then he is the universe and the cosmos that we dwell in and so god is in all and i really do like the the uh old proverb i learned this from from john illuminati congo you got a song if you can't see god in all then you can't see god at all i've really learned to apply that to my life and and it's really really awesome even just in prayer people are asking for prayer and giving giving uh advice and things like that it's okay god what would you say what do you say about the matter you're in this situation somewhere don't seem like it seems like there's devils and demons and despair and heartache and cancer and all kinds of stuff in this but god where are you in this allow me to see you please so that i can minister hope that i can just be a friend or whatever it is and so there's a beauty in there to know that there's nowhere that we can go where he isn't mentally spiritually subconsciously and uh and that's that's being able to see him in everything and he is very inclusive yes he is i you know we we have traces throughout christian tradition that uh points to this uh unapologetically just points to it uh and then i think that just like i joked about you know being in the corner of the room and feeling that outsideness and saying oh excuse my friends but oh let me jump back in my we in the christian church do that often for example when you said the whole uh and i love that uh congo's illuminati congo's lyric if you can't see god in all you can't see god at all the quakers had a tradition and they have it written in their doctrine that there is a grace of god that you see christ in everything and everyone there was a mystic and i think it was teresa of avila or it wasn't theresa because it was a man who had a deep deep vision and no it may have been theresa uh this is uh i'm i've read this book on mystics and all of these great stories but anyway this person they they they ran out of their time of prayer saying christ is in all christ is all is in all he is all because it was like for days that everywhere this person looked they saw christ in them and that's when the veil gets lifted and you see the beauty of it i think about the idea of the cup and i think you know if if you you to understand overflow you've got to have a cup yeah to understand overflow you've got to have this idea where the thing is in the container and the container was created for the purpose of overflow wasn't created just for the purpose of stagnation and keeping it and holding it in it was for the purpose of overflow and every worthy container experiences overflow think about your favorite cup every time you tip that baby back it's overflow and it was created not just to hold but to pour out and for overflow and so i think that we have these moments and we have these errors and god of course is in ordering and bringing things to boundaries and saying this is what is only for the purpose of being who he really is we even call him he uh but sometimes i say won't she do it okay to who god really is is the greatest escape artist yes he creates the cup she creates the cup to escape the cup so that that to me that's the beauty that's the beauty and then the mystery is in all of us i one of the lyrics that i put on this new i'm really excited tonight i actually go to the studio to to record the first single and the first single is called the hum so i got this lyric i set up all hail emanuel through the perpetual inhale and exhale that tip the scale and lift the veil see celestial with the pineal like a fraction we all tiny l and motion like a kaleidoscope gathering balancing isotopes would hope to be twice as dope so it's like yes it's we're all if you see a kaleidoscope it it has the same image just all broken up and it's all floating around because the more you twist the kaleidoscope you see the same image just in broken pieces okay there the whole you know that we in we're almost infractions with fractal art we are god's fractal art we're all tiny hidden himself he's hidden himself within us and that's why when he says let you know in the scripture narrative in the story of the garden and he said let us create man and let him it was not that one race it was not that one tribe that one person that one religion let humanity be the stewards of the earth and and that to me there is the reason why we've never been able to properly steward the earth to the best of the ability that we all know it could be stewarded because we're trying to just do it alone we've got to do it as a unit as as as a species so anyway good stuff man um i'm going to go ahead and open up the phone lines for those you check it out um fred man man i love how you putting it down like bro you you are on your grind dude okay you could tell they've got too much going on dude it's hard to capture all of this overflow this you can see that this is a labor of love for you man what drove you because i'm sure like when i first saw you doing your thing and saw how you getting down i'm like that's what's up this dude is doing his thing uh but but but it takes like skill what drove you to figure out how to like so much of that stuff you're doing you got to do a podcast ain't nobody's doing it so i got to do it and let me let me count you this because i want to hear from you how why what took you when back in the 80s okay back our first album was in 88 so in about 86 87 i was just graduating from bible school and i was thinking about hip-hop i was out on the street rapping and using it as a tool and all of that and we came up with this lyric we said you know uh we're don't don't look upon us to idolize we're just holy ghost preachers and rap in the skies thus the name preachers in disguise or pid was born right and i remember praying in prayer on the backside of my christian bible school christ for the nations institute i was in the wilderness out in the backside and i was praying i was like man lord somebody need to use rap because rap is the language you know i was back in the 80s i was young and you know thought i knew something and i was like rap is the language what's going to happen it's gonna blow up somebody need to use rap and i felt and i distinctly felt in my heart the holy spirit said so when you gonna do it why don't you do it and i was like no um see cause somebody else needs to do it and what i love about what i see you man it's like you like there needs to be this podcast that opens up and gives more people room to breathe so it's like you just went and did it he was like okay there needs to be some hip-hop that's representing strong that got lyrics that that's got that understands what hip-hop is about but also can bridge the gap between spiritualism and you know so you went and did it what what drives you to do that man cause you you you killed in the game cousin talk to me man it wasn't easy at first man you know um but i know the work that i did uh opened up the door for a lot more people and maybe a lot more people were in a similar spot and they weren't talking about their experiences um where they are now but you know when i when i started this and even starting christian rap let's say even go back to early days of christian rap like christian rap is of the devil and oh yeah we can't listen to that and why are you trying to be like the world to win the world and all these cliches that we heard like that was revolutionary too gospel rap so um for me like uh you know having these experiences and and uh and wanting to tell people and wanting to share it with others and then having uh other people with me who had similar experiences or the same ones but they kind of like yeah there's no way i can talk about this because i would get fired from my job people would think i'm crazy you know that kind of thing and so with our our overflow from our experiences with god and crying out in prayer and fasting and all of those things study and all of that began overflowing and this is the revelation that came and we would beg god for revelation would beg him to show himself to us beg us to a lot to use us but we thought that it was something that at the time at least i did thought it was something that uh that the church would you know accept and they would ask me to preach and share and those kind of things and when it came out little by little it was it was so foreign you know of begging god to to use us and show us things and and um you know i felt like i had to share it you know and i just be open and honest as a psalmist for a musician like you got to write about what you're going through yes you do you know what i'm saying so what i was experiencing what i was going through it just organically comes out in your music and um so that kind of happened even though it was like you know i was a christian minister and and the christian my christian friends would you know have conversations about me and stay away from him and he's going back into witchcraft and he's doing this and he's doing that and you know early on i thought that it would open up dialogue because i got scriptures man i i'm tearing the word up dude right i i thought i can show them the zodiac the mazzaroth orion the pleiades the four living creatures i thought i can show them all that in the scriptures like and how that's the zodiac and all of the you know so-called ufos or angels or trance state in the bible but none of them wanted to hear it so i was writing it down thinking that it would open up dialogue and it never did and uh and then my friends were you know who had the same experiences but they were like yeah we can't talk about it i don't want to get fired and so i was like well because you guys aren't talking about it i have to because you guys won't like i have to because you won't and so i'm you know stuck my head out there and this was you know ridiculed and made fun of and excommunicated and called crazy and all kinds of stuff and there there was nothing like this podcast that everyone's listening to right now this nothing existed now it's a dime a dozen they're everywhere christians are talking about aliens christians talk about mushrooms christian listen your head was cut off if you talked about any of this stuff oh yeah and so um you know i uh i put it out there and was just open and honest about my experiences and so uh i think i paid the way for a lot of people you know and i've just you know i'm just a regular guy but i know that this platform is is much bigger than me um and and you know in influence and things like that is is a lot bigger listen there's i know that there's like big people contact me in the church my heart is for the church my heart is for god's people um whether that's people in there now or bringing people into this relationship with christ to let them know that they are the church right yeah um and so i have people over christian major radio stations who contact me and they listen to the show hey bro i could never talk about that stuff but because of your podcast i have a magic mushroom ceremony uh set up and god's calling me to it man and there's nobody i can talk to about it and i have to listen in these people who were like confiding in me and stuff and they're like big time they're preachers and pastors and all of this stuff so i just made sure that uh that i just was open and honest about it and and now it's a dime a dozen i don't think i get credit for it may i don't i guess i don't need the credit but but i know you know what i'm saying like what i went through and this wasn't cool and and there it's everywhere now and it's opened it and i rejoice over that and um you know the fact that um you know if if we don't if they don't you know invite you to their table make your own make your own table if they're not asking you to come speak at their conference rent a building and throw your own conference if they're not if they're not inviting you on their podcast make your own podcast right and so we have the power and the technology to do that now so the mystic circle and those kind of things like there's a lot of people who we rub shoulders with who have amazing stories and they're more anointed and deeper than any of the people that you would see on gaia but you'd never hear their name because they don't have the money they don't have the resources or the technology and know how to do that because they're so devoted to their spiritual life and they're not they're not marketing themselves they're not those people it's expensive to hire a public publicist yes it is very expensive and so i want to i want to give those people a platform i want to you know have them on my podcast and have these conversations and stuff so you know early on with with just a podcast was like just a student of jordan maxwell of uh santos benachi and and listening to coast to coast am and hearing those people and um and and i would hear them in interviews and they would explain something and then the uh the the host the interviewer would change the subject or they would they would mention something i'm like wait i want to know more about that like why didn't you go deeper into this guy just like passingly said that angels came to him in the middle of the night listen hold on what did they look like how did they communicate was it telepathically i've had similar experiences did they open their mouth did they communicate did they look into your eyes like so i'm reaching out to these same people that i'm listening to these interviews with because i genuinely had questions and i'd write them down and i and everybody who was on these big shows and the big names and stuff because i was out there early on when nobody else was doing it had a radio show podcast in 2010 i was able to get all of these people on early on and that's where like you know i kind of got my wings or whatever and that guy made you know it was it wasn't easy dude it was it was hard you talk about feeling like you're the only one i damn sure was the only christian uh talking about this stuff and and being open and honest about the beauty of you know plants medicine or or working with plant teachers and and spirits and the elementals and the elements on the other side and how jesus had a relationship with them and all of the stuff that i put in my music like that stuff came from study and from experience and so we have to be honest with our stories and and not hold back you know we're doing humanity and a disservice when we hold back and keep this stuff to ourselves because we're fear we're afraid of ridicule and and and not being invited to parties or being made fun of or hey that's the crazy guy like i just started going back to church man and one of the first things that the pastor when i talked to him and he was my pastor from 20 years ago and he's like uh yeah man you haven't yeah i told him yeah i've been going to a bible study next door and these kind of things and he said oh that's good man he's like you found any cool conspiracy theories lately man huh it's like you don't really even that's old bro like you know what i'm saying so people still remember you yeah from being the crazy 9 11's an inside job watch out for td jakes man they're you know all that kind of stuff so right um you know being made fun of and ridiculed and being a a revolutionary you know and i think jesus was that i think the disciples was that this was all new to them and and we're we're rediscovering and remembering a lot of things that i believe the early church participated in and they knew the secrets of the spirit world and and they understood how to have authority and dominion in that realm because they knew who they were and they knew how it operated so when you read my book and or hear these talks and stuff it is for people to know who they are in the spirits people are getting beat up by forces and energies and the moon cycles and all kinds of things and they're just a victim but they just think that ah me and if all i got is jesus man just need jesus man that kind of thing and uh and it sounds good until it's time to fast you know it sounds good until it's time to give an offering or until it's time to talk about a different subject and uh and we know that we just have to be um open and honest about our stories and how simple that is that people just know that they're not alone yeah i'm not crazy like man and i can't tell you a big part of like my following the audience or whatever my music fans whatever you want to call it like they're like man like i know what you talk about like i do the same thing and i've but nobody vocalizes it and we're looking for people to stand up from the the crowd and and someone will we're eager to identify with someone you know and so for us mystics christian mystics if you say that um we didn't have anybody and i became that you know by just you know being a laughingstock but you know they say that about truth it goes through this progression at first it's ridiculed and it's mocked and and then you're made fun of and all of these things and then it's accepted and it's like oh yeah yeah we all knew that the whole time like could have fooled me well for me you know there um the yesterday two days ago i think it was uh actually when we were yeah so when we were coming back home from houston my wife and i were talking and me being a preacher i i always think in preacher thought okay so that means i have three points on everything and and the baptist preacher envy asks that they all have to have the same letter to start with right so and that's my own joke about myself but but honestly uh it's been probably about two years that i've been kind of mentally cooking on this idea probably even more than that probably about four years that i've been thinking and it all hit me on my trip home and i'll share with you is is this that we all have to play so i i got this sermon in my mind i've never preached it yet but i call it play the role because we all play the role but the role switches and we've got to know how to switch with the role one role that we all play is we are the one that to somebody in somebody's life we must become the one you got to mean something to somebody in fact they say that the the one part of keeps people alive is that sense of connectedness that they they are important they are significant to someone so when we are the one that's a role now mind you this is once again in my opinion is a fractal design that you can see in the divine so we all play the role of the one then we all play the role of the other and sometimes when you're so used to being the one and you shift to the now your role is the other yeah it's hard sometimes because the other is the the foreigner the outsider the other the ill the other or or not or it's not even ill because i got another one for that one it's just i'm dispassionate about it because you're not me i don't care about you because you are other right and so others and then the third one and i learned this from being from a life with my son is we all got to play the role of the ogre the hated one the stinky one the one that nobody wants to be around the ogre and that those roles shift in our lives uh my there was a time in my life with my son where he was mad at me because of mistakes that i made uh i just said that me and my wife we celebrated 30 years uh in our 20-year 25th year of our marriage we went through the hardest times right when my son and my daughter became old enough they you know graduated from high school both of them into college and my wife and i we went through a separation uh hardest time in my entire life and i wish it on nobody if you're watching this and you're going through some type of separating pain from someone you love my heart aches with you because no one deserves to just be torn away from love but love has moments where it takes you through tearing it is but keep on living stay with it stay with it so anyway i was in that moment and in that separation i felt like my son hated me as my son yeah i felt like he hated me and and i felt like either wisdom because i'll say that because we still both doing so we say the holy spirit to me god spoke to me maybe it was just lady wisdom said let him hate you stop trying to stop him from hating you let him hate you yeah because it's only going to last a season and it's going to exhaust but the more that you make that him hating you a taboo thing you're just giving fuel to it let him hate you and i let go and let him hate me and it was like this i hate you i hate you i hate you that was it he didn't hate me no more give it a moment let and so there are times that i realized that i had to play the ogre i had to play i'm not your friend in this i'm gonna be the bad guy right now and time shifts and i'll turn back to the one and one of the most marvelous moments in my life was a christmas right after that same season with my wife and i we found each other again our separation only lasted nine months and we came back together on christmas day we were back here in texas my wife and i we drove from san diego to texas to be with our our kids they decided you know to come and hang out at the house for christmas and we were doing a group hug and my son told me he said this time last year i almost killed myself in this same room and he just looked at me and said i'm so glad i didn't derek that was the best christmas gift i ever could have had but i had to go through those three seasons of being the one being the other being the ogre and i came back to being the one even if not for him for me just to hug my my family and to have them back i don't need nothing else yeah yeah i'm good i'm good small things in life small things baby simplicity yeah that's what it's about man um we play those roles we go through them you know i think that we go through i think that you know i think it's more than three i think it's i think it's every i think it's every character in the bible you know yeah it is gonna hit me with another one give me an o though give me a oh you're right you you're a word smith so if it's a it's the other it's the one it's the ogre gonna give you another i mean some would say like the tarot you know what i'm saying the path of the tarot is like you play all those characters and they and they mean something to you um i mean you know i i all of the you know i we all identify with with king david right facing the giants you know what i'm saying that's a you know or dealing with idolatry you know what i'm saying or um wherever we are you know the woman i'm you know we think we're these cool people we're we're the the low lives too we're i'm the woman caught in the act of adultery right i'm the beggar you know i'm the leper true i play the leper bro that's what i became to those church folks i was a leper stay away from him man it'll rub off on you you're going to be just like the devil he's got demons his demons will his demons will jump on you i've had dreams that true seeker has demons stay away like i became the leper i played that role and uh and i'm all of them and i'm still those to different people yeah i'm all things to all men but my goal is to win some and so uh you know i'm all of them but i'm but i'm not but i'm none of them at the same time all of them are none of them and is that not him is that not him yeah and the ability to love through that and still keep your mind and keep yourself in love through it and like hurt through it i mean i i i i hated being the ogre you know but i played the role stuck to it i talked about how it felt to yahweh and this is what i didn't realize he was like yeah i know yeah i was like oh that's right you know yeah you can't complain you know what it's like you know what that's like that's sharing with the fellowship of his sufferings only comes man from that that that deep that being still being quiet you know be still and no be still and know a side of me that you never knew before that's it we got a caller got a caller got a caller here um let's see if we get these phone lines to work let's see if they're working uh alex are you with us alex follow from the 317. hello hello are you there caller from 317 maybe the phone lines aren't working maybe not well let us know if you can hear us follow from 317. okay well i thought we did well it was close this technology yes sir um one thing i want to tell you too like i've just been getting into this guy's work um the kinis um what is his name bradford keaney i've been talking about this a lot and i know i say i know very little i've i've experienced it and i know what he's talking about in the notion and he's got books and videos on his stuff but uh this book man i want you to get it uh okay it's by the kinis but it's called this the spiritual engineering of sacred ecstasy oh and so what do you think that sounds good together what you know spiritual engineering of sacred ecstasy by the kinis it's by him and his wife and so i've seen a couple videos i've had a friend of mine put me on to it and um what he's talking about they call it i don't like the name but they call it spiritual cooking and what they mean and i don't like the name because uh my first introduction to that is a negative conversation something called spirit cooking illuminati it was crazy stuff but anyway he the guy doesn't know nothing about that he went with the um um tribes in in africa and and some other places he traveled the world and and checked out their spiritual practice and them tapping into the spirit and getting filled with what you know we would call the holy spirit in church right but um there's some some things that he he's found on on how to do it um and it's about speaking in tongues it's about getting into a big part of it is about he's big on rhythm finding the rhythm whether that's a rhythm with words that you're making up that's a rhythm maybe with a beat boxing that's a rhythm with stomping and clap and finding that rhythm and then actually your spirit getting into that rhythm and um there's like there's there's uh almost tutorials and then there's there's like the the philosophy of um of who you are in in that place and how connected you are to to the creator and uh and how to facilitate that and as you're reading it and as you you can identify with with some things that that they're talking about because you've felt it in in church you felt yes in your own quiet time in your own prayer time and things like that and so it's been really interesting to kind of go down that path and i want to i want to reach out to him soon he's in new orleans he's up in new orleans yeah and i was just up in new orleans about three weeks ago no so i would i would recommend checking out his book check him out he's up on kindle i just saw it so i'm gonna have to get that and i've been checking out this book uh called the physics of god by joseph selby and so this cat is a physicist science scientist and he talks about uh some similar concept in what he describes as he calls it the um the science of religious practice the science of religion and basically he's saying these things such as the meditation the the dancing the rhythms and all of those that kind of take carry us away that spirit us away all of those type of things he said they're found in all of these type of traditions or practices or uh uh or disciplines uh to to to enter into that state of connected connection with the divine and so that within itself is a discipline or a science and i thought wow that's an interesting way to look at it you know one of the interesting things i love how you talk about the rhythm and all of this and now tell me your take on this this has been one of my things that i've been playing with in the back of my mind uh we are all um like think of the fact that we started out as what they call it a zygote you know the the the you know the the first like the amoeba you know we were we were this you know mixture of sales and the cells moved against or moved in a certain way that caused them to spread and grow right i i've been playing with this idea of even like dance and rhythm and finding patterns that open us up just like a cell it's almost like wiggling to you expand are moving in a certain way till you expand or gathering friction to the friction changes the energy and then there is expansion and that happens over and over and over and all nature and all creation so that when we in a place of just through chanting when we just by like i was in prayer this morning and i remember doing some reading where it said you know the whole idea of chanting is what it does to your mind that gets you in that state you can simply chant a e i o u and if you do it with intention chanting a e i o u with intention boom it expands yeah and it opens you up yeah you know me and i've talked about this like with it with the analytical mind like i'm because we get into the spirit and we start speaking in tongues and and for me i've had a lot of cases where i i it's pentecostal you're going to keep going with tongues you're just going to keep going but but like a tongue on a rhythm where you repeat the same thing and it almost sounds like a a native american chant yes let's just give the the example a i a e i o u a e i o u a e you know you kind of tap it into it your you're kick-starting with with that so anyway for me i start writing that stuff down and trying to translate it you know what i'm saying and the interesting thing though a buddy of mine who who follows this guy's work he said yeah you don't do that i say no when i do that like interesting messages come through yeah you know that it's it's a lot of times just like i've never heard anybody say when i heard you say that on the podcast i was like now see that's dope yeah that's just the analytical mind you let's say where does this stuff come from like it comes to writing it down and turning it into a chant or a roll call or something like that um but it's in and i don't know if you i'm sure you heard the other podcast where we're kind of talking about this but he starts the guy start we start watching videos of this guy and yes i saw that and then the same thing that the lady is saying is something that came to us or me intuitively during our sunday morning breath work session you go in like there's levels i go in and this stuff comes up and there's there's even levels to that there's just like a little there's like some i don't know there's just deep levels jesus talked to rivers it's rivers it comes out in a trickle it comes out in a flowing river and it's just you and you just experi you sit there and watch it you you're experiencing it you're witnessing it so yeah i love it let me know if uh the guests can hear us on i think i'm got you unmuted now let me know if you can hear us call it from 317. i'm trying to get these phone lines working if you're there with this maybe not okay maybe not oh we're so close bro now i want to hear what you got to say someone please call in just so i can make sure this is working because i had to go back to the drawing board y'all that's a lot of technology somebody call the number and just say hello just say god bless you uh the number 609 six three five five seven seven call in i wanna make sure that this is working if not we'll have to use a different service paying for a service that doesn't work uh-oh see so yeah but um let's see i remember talking about the speaking in tongues me and my wife you know i've been doing ministry for years like i said i gave my life to christ at 16 uh or rather in uh 14 15 well just turned 13 to 14. 16 i went to bible school and uh oh is he on there yo we got a caller from sherman texas not sherman texas sherm town well they dropped he dropped yeah well we heard it it was working right it was a crazy echo though we heard it maybe they had maybe they were still listening let's see we're gonna get these this these children's technology trying to get it figured out so okay so alex i think alex is trying to call back alex call us back hey are you with us alex yo can you hear us hear you alex yo yo alex i think we can hear them but they can't hear us that might be it three up call her from 307 can you hear us from uh riverington can you hear me yo what up yeah hello hello hey we hear you hear me yeah can you hear us is it echo hello hello unmuted yo can you hear me muted there we go i can hear you now can you hear me i think you're listening are you listening to us on the podcast you might be watching the podcast trying to talk to us and he's got to pull it down turn it down yeah you might have to mute the podcast and hear us on the phone if that'll work all right can you hear me now we can't hear you can you hear us back he's just he's talking to us on the podcast like he's watching oh i think i'm muted yeah he said yeah wow yeah i can only hear you from the podcast turn the podcast okay let's see yeah i can only hear you on the podcast what about now i don't know i have to wait for the delayed reaction okay why don't you why don't you ask your question and then hang up and then we'll we can go from your question i think he was just calling in to test it for me that's adam i can tell from his voice okay yeah that's adam adam starseed huh i guess we're not coming through on the phone lines we should be though that's the weird thing um let me let me just try one more thing which i don't think it'll hmm strange because if we're connected in here it should be anyway that's not there's somebody calling somebody calling from mobile mobile and then they hung up unmuted yo what about now what about now hello hello hello that might have been it check check check i'm hearing an echo though you're hearing i don't hear anything hello yo yo yo yo yo yo we got three yo's hey can y'all hear me we can hear you man pretty cool this is johan d villamonte hey what's up what's up baby trying to figure it out i'm listening to the podcast and at the same time i'm calling from the same phone first time you gotta turn the podcast off you gotta talk to us on the phone if it works okay that's what we gotta figure out let's see i'm gonna unmute that muted okay cool what about now yeah i can hear you guys now just from the phone because i wasn't sure if i was gonna hear y'all from just the podcast unmuted but i think i can hear you now from the phone line which is cool can you you can hear me right now right now yeah i can hear you okay see it's perfect great thank you for helping us get through this awkward segment yeah my pleasure i can imagine it can be frustrating at times with dealing with technology and trying to figure it all out yeah yeah we're here so where are you calling from johan i'm calling from dunlap tennessee dunlap tennessee drove i've driven through it how nice plenty of country i'm at the top of the of a mountain called fredonia mountain right those are the mountains i remember driving through there late at night coming from dallas going up to uh detroit and we decided to take a sh like what we thought we didn't have any clue of geography but we was like man i'm looking on the map we can just go straight this way through mountains oh those are the best type of trips sightseeing and just being blessed by the people and just the environment the panorama definitely a lot of good shots oh that's cool that's awesome thank you for uh sharing what you had to share today in just a beautiful conversation between you both it's uh really resonated with me it's it's uh your background is just uh pretty inspiring from an artistic point of view and from the ministry point of view with the mystical side of things which i believe is true christianity so i loved it loved it well thank you man thank you for coming through and thank you for hanging out and thank you for being who you are i think the truth is there are a lot more mystics than uh conventional christianity reports um and there are a lot more on the rise who just simply have to exercise who and what they are you know so yeah it's it's a lot of us crazy ones out here the crazy will be the new normal soon yeah he already is it already is hey man i've seen one of your comments a while ago when we're talking about hip hop and just kind of like going through these levels and stuff and you mentioned paul washer and how paul washer kind of like opened up to christian hip-hop do you want to talk about that i remember that video that where he actually had cross movement or the creator of those guys on yeah yeah man i got you know a funny story i got introduced into you might say a deeper relationship with god through his testimony videos and uh i got into his work like a while back until like back in 2017. you know a little world bank before that and uh so i got into reform baptist theology and you know i remember that video i was like cool you know and when he meets ministries vouch for it you know you you admire him give him some respect from where you're at at that moment and they're like okay if this is cool then you know and at the same time i'm dealing with uh music because you know you got that side of religion that says no you should only listen to a certain type of music that that pleases the lord and so seeing those type of comments was actually from the inside it was kind of actually quite alleviating right and uh yeah anyway uh that it was those testimonies of some ministers like that that even though they're you know more on the cessationist side of things but at the same time there was that yearning for more of the spirit more of the deeper things of god and anyway fast forward just like looking back at it it's like wow it's amazing how you know you see like the like the scary pouring out some desires and ex expanding some points of view it's like the saying yeah you can explore on these areas you know it's like you know because i don't know if it's like these genres these specific music genres that have been and and so it's attributed as this is the devil's right and and and nowadays like you might say we've sanctified it because of all uh and also due to the vouching of ministers like paul wash or john piper now like uh there's a christian rapist a thing right even amongst conservative circles so i i feel that uh that's pretty interesting seeing the dynamic of how that goes now of course christian mystic rap hip-hop which i see i only got into your work uh derek about maybe about a year or two now it's but it was brand new to me even though i see that you've been in the scene for quite a while now so it's interesting i feel like eventually one when one is ready to open up oneself to new venues of expression for worship or just expression of authentic self true self then it eventually finds itself to you right i yeah i find that uh i look back i look back at those videos and i find it quite interesting of uh how there's been like breadcrumbs right along the way to where we're at right now musically speaking yeah yeah when the student is ready the teacher will appear man and that's the beautiful thing i think was google like we don't have to like i say proselytize but we just put it out there and listen if you want to find christian rap there's so let's just use an example i uh i interviewed the guys from destiny lab one of the guys two weeks ago and so they do christian rap but it's it's kind of like my style a little bit they're definitely getting into you know fringe topics in christian but they're like a hard christian stance i'll say that and uh but even with their titles they have christian rap actually if you go to their website their their website is labeled the best best christian rap music so they're trying to get in front of people who are googling best christian rap music right so they're in front of that so versus them having to be on street corners handing out cds calling pastors asking can i come to your church and perform all this kind of thing you just leave it up to google for you to type in christian rap and hopefully you're gonna run across their music why because you're looking for christian rap and so i guess the same way with song titles and youtube tags or google tags or these naming podcasts certain things that you're going to look into those things and and find you know what we got going on and and you can resonate with it you stick around you buy a cd or listen on you know amazon or spotify or whatever the case is and it's really cool you know we we we find what we're looking for but i guess that act of finding it is always interesting interesting i'm always interested in how people found me you know and why do they listen because i wear so many hats is it like there's some people because my testimony my love for god my love for worship and creating an atmosphere and then so they resonate with that part of me others it's you know the mystical side or some people are here just for music they don't give a care of crap about any of the podcasts and these discussions they comment when's new music wins new music and they all they message me when's the music and that's why they're here so i'm always interested in wearing all of the hats like how did someone find my work to know what's effective too and what what they're resonating with i guess right well you know it's um looking back uh when i first got uh i came across your work i actually came to an interview with with joe hodges because i was you know uh i guess it served its purpose uh those conversations of the deeper things of god yet within the christian realm iraq is one kind of fears of what's out there uh exploring and whatnot you only you only put yourself on the like behind those that have explored a bit but still bear the name of christ you know but what when i came across your work and i gotta admit i first like uh i really resonated with me but then i came across all those interviews with psychics and mediums now and bam like all these their flags which is just a triggering right but then but then i'm like no no let's uh let's look at the context let's see let's let's look at the heart of the intent and i started listening a bit more and i realized hey this is just uh opening you know conversating with people it doesn't necessarily mean that you know he's agreeing with all of them but then even along the way you realize you start to see christ right in and as all you started even though they do do not bear the name of christ hey i'm a jesus follower or you know the father or the christian terminology but you start just seeing the fruits like right like it says in romans like they're gentiles they do by nature they think of the law without them even you know knowing they're doing it so i guess that's been freeing in a sense like you know it's like you you now look at people you see you identify the father when they follow the path of love and and that's been quite freeing so thank you for that for your ministry in that sense and uh it's been quite free and liberating you know through the renewing of the mind it's been great it's been a great journey awesome yeah and those that scripture really you know um was a big part of my awakening you know that the gentiles by nature are keeping the law and they don't even know it you know what i'm saying and so they're they're they're showing love to one another they're taking care of they're not killing killing each other they're not robbing cheating or stealing which is like this is the commandments and and and it breaks it down and god has written his law upon our hearts and for those who are without you know those who aren't jews or those who aren't christians but you see them you know bearing fruit which is really interesting and so that was a big debate like unbelievers can't bear spiritual fruit it's false fruit not like no i want to partake of that fruit like they're really good people they love me for who i am they don't judge like listen you guys have hoops that i have to jump through and if i miss if i trip up on one of those hoops i'm done you're ready to cut my head off this person doesn't care what i believe in and just loves me for me so there's a lot that you guys can learn and i started to see that and that was jesus man you know and people who are unbelievers or don't share the same you know theological breakdowns whether they're christians or or lack thereof you know yeah yeah for sure um you know i it's uh tying this back to the uh to the to the tongue to the language of tongues from what you were discussing a little while back um you know um i i guess you might say this is the question or maybe just an observation on i know however it flows this uh so a while back like about a year or so ago i list i heard from this christian mystic uh from india you've probably heard of maybe maybe not you know his his background was i guess in the denominational denomination that i grew up in which is which was seventh-day adventist and his journey kind of helped my journey saying oh cool somebody that came from my background is where he's at right now after going to similar things you know just looking at scripture being open to the spirit and just and just going with the flow with what father is saying right and the gifts of the spirit and whatnot um the in the language of tongues you mentioned regarding uh sometimes just being caught up in the syllable you know that has maybe expounding like a layers of meaning according to you know the interpretation as it comes you checked it out in in whatever venue translation venue you used right um i remember like listening to an illustration of how like even in the human languages you know like for example the asian uh dialects uh chinese cantonese japanese etc like sometimes like uh the same vowel or the type of sound might have different meanings by how it's pronounced by how uh it's enunciated right so i remember hearing from the christian mystic from india a couple years back he gave up a deep expounding on the the science of tongues and i was like that's interesting you know because i as like as i started like experiencing like a couple years back you know because i came from very conservative background and then bam you know charismatic uh not necessarily going to meetings or whatnot it was more in the privacy of my own home and just listening to different teachings and just kind of this i saw in scripture well you know the language of the spirit okay and you know and i realized that actually i have been practicing things for a long time and not even realizing it until somebody say hey i think you already have very gifted songs right we don't they were praying for me because i'm like i'm gonna receive it i'm like no you already have it i was like really that's why sometimes i just like um spontaneously we just uh playfully you know just speak gibberish of what i thought was your vision you know it's like somebody else that's me but i was watching a light language video yesterday from a guy who's not a christian maybe he grew up christian i don't know but they get into light language and listen i could feel the intention that he was sending and it was beautiful it was amazing shout out to beat me the rapper is his name and he was on tick-tock and he's just like it sounds a little bit different right they could because they're from a different culture they're not from church culture right it's a different culture so uh but but you can feel it right he's speaking from his heart his spit not his heart but his spirit is coming through his heart and out of his mouth this vibrational frequency that he wishes to push and and it's usually something with you know when you're when you're ministering it's something with love and compassion and god's you know grace and beauty and those kind of things that you're able to to feel and so uh yeah it's uh bypassing the intellectual mind and having your spirit pray through you as the scripture even talks about you know um right are you guys familiarized with heart math research institute they talk a lot about the heart i'm wondering how that ties in you know the mechanics of it uh eugene peterson who wrote the message you know he did the translation of scripture he wrote another book that's called the contemplative pastor and he talks about what he calls it heart language he actually was started out as a pentecostal pastor and uh he kind of crossed the board uh denominationally pastored in different denominational settings and uh so he talks about language as heart language the first language we all learn is the language of the heart and we were celebrating giving example we were celebrating my my my uh great aunt as i was saying this past weekend and uh one of the things that my aunt is just she is a genius at is she loves to talk baby talk and all of us she's 87 years old so she basically everyone that was in the room says one degree she has talked baby talk to us while we were babies and so we all laughed about it now my sister of course brought the fact in a completely different way to say you know what uh and viola she's changed the diapers of every person in this room and it's true yeah so from both sides she's touched both expressions both homes she's she's connected with but for talking about the baby talk she is so good is that she could sit there and talk baby talk to a baby and the baby looks up and captures and is like identifying with what she's saying from the heart and it made me think you know any expression that we get scripture doctrine theological stance any word or of divine is simply baby talk of the divine okay and and that's why others may not understand the depth of it and all the theological treaties that we bring we think that are so deep uh i think it was august augustus or augustus not aquaintest that said uh all of the books that i've written like at the end of his life he said in comparison to a real experience with god all of it is gibberish all of it is baby talk and so when you think of speaking in tongues and how tongues just like derek says it bypasses the intellect one of the things i think that they've done some research and richard rohr talks about this how that when you do speak in tongues and end up in the actual event of glossolalia you you lose the sense of time it like so if you've ever if you ever in a point of speaking in tongues if you purposely go into it it takes your mind off of being in it it brings you into the present so that's i guess that's the best way i'm trying to say it brings you into the here and now right here right now uh tell you but what either one of you guys think about this i've played with this in my mind for a while not even just speaking in tongues but actually in a meditative state thinking in tongues you ever thought about that thinking in tongues yeah so i'm not the only crazed one okay cool you're good to confirm yeah yeah wow how does that relate with like the energetic the opening of the energetic nerve centers or the chakras some call it you know that's uh yeah i'm wondering also the mechanics of that how that works especially as as you maybe the first time that one is speaking on that spiritual language right uh you know what when in the charismatic apps that you know they call being born again and they start speaking out in tongues maybe as a child you know when they're speaking gibberish the intention you know even though they you cannot enunciate the word sending them of themselves but the intention you know you know it's uh it's there maybe they literally naturally always had it since birth but you know eventually uh you learn your culture's language and somewhere along the way also the conditionings the traumas you know sometimes the energetic nerve centers are closed and i'm wondering as they opened up how that flows uh what does that look like if it's you know because sometimes it comes out as groans you know uh how does that look like when you're or whether you're praying from your heart or is it all connected all seven chakras or other specific points that that are utilized or focused on as whether when you're using your prayer language or just spontaneous worship any of you have any thoughts on that i'll i'll say just with the shocker thing to make it really easy that for me though you know i say this a lot those represent different areas and aspects of your life to know that what what your root chakra represents what your gut represents you know what what your throat shopper chakra chakra represents speaking your truth your third eye the crown of your head receiving light how connected to you all this to you from the spirit realm and so even when you're ministering to people you know we'll intuitively put our hands on their body or wherever they're having pain in their body like if they're having pain in their a headache i'm not going to like touch their hand and administer you know what i'm saying so you put your hand on that that place uh where where the energy is and so for me when it comes to having your your chakras in alignment it is about having every area of your life into submission and to the obedience of christ which is love everything is flowing there you're not caught up you're not addicted to pornography you're not a glutton to your food you're not afraid to speak your truth you're not foggy in the spirit realm you can't like not see clearly in the spirit you're not hearing god you know so to have everything in alignment everything uh you know lined up so for me when we talk about your chakras being in alignment and those kind of things that's what it represents for me so um yeah if you're speaking in tongues and you're praying you and you need help in those areas i would definitely think that you would be getting some attention you know in those energy centers of of the body that's what they represent there's you know the chakras and then there's other places too um which kind of correlate with the chakras a little bit the the base of the spine the back of the neck the top of the head you know those kind of things so i definitely see the similarities there i can see them too i have been uh looking at something and i'm look really considering uh placing it in this this project the sacred home i haven't written the whole thing but i have been in a deep deep dive and study with these you know the lord's prayer that and we call it the lord's prayer it really was i mean if you want to go to the lord's prayer you need to go to John 17. but the disciples prayer that the lord spoke and taught the disciples uh in matthew like fifth chapter of five and six uh and there's also in luke that's a seven-fold prayer and what's interesting about that is that the essenes would pray that seven-fold prayer so jesus of course john the baptist was a scene jesus being connected with that tradition was something that he picked up and kind of modified but that seven fold to me also touches the seven energy centers and so i've been in this deep steady and deep dive of actually doing a they a lord's prayer uh aligning alignment with the energy centers with the chakras and so yeah i think that's all connected i do and have you um have you i'm sure you have uh but have you read that in aramaic in the in the terminology of vibration and those and cosmos and things have you read that no please man i'm trying to i'm trying to find the right one um because it seems like the the original blew up and i feel like they're sharing it everywhere but maybe this is it the nazarene wait okay this is the one the lord's prayer um let me make sure it's the one because there's a few different versions but um the prayer to our father um oh father from whom the breath of life comes it fills all realms of sound light and vibration may your light be experienced in my utmost holiest your heavenly domain approaches right your kingdom come so your heavenly domain approaches let your will come true in the universe which is all that vibrates just as it is on earth all that is material and dense give us wisdom understanding assistance for our daily need detach the fetters of our faults that bind us karma it says like like we let go of the guilt of others let us not be lost in superficial things materialism common temptations but let us be free from that which keeps us off of our true purpose for from you comes all the working will the lively strength to act the song that beautifies and renews itself from age to age sealed and trust in faith and truth amen there's a couple different versions but they're really similar another one says o birther father mother of the cosmos focus your light within us make it useful create your reign of unity now through our fiery hearts and willing hands help us love beyond our ideals and this is just very similar you know wording to uh just getting into the deepness of it so definitely check that out so one of these is from the gospel of the holy 12 i don't know if you've heard of that book yeah that's one i've i've checked out back in the day that's nice man that's nice i just think it lines up it's poetic i had a question go ahead yes sir yeah yeah yeah uh tiny back to like the vibrational hum from where brother freddie is sharing um where does one um comment with regards to chanting or just merely uh vibrating in a place of student stillness or quantantic expression is it is it just does it start on the intention i'm sure does but does does my mind go or maybe my mind doesn't go maybe just for my spirit right does it is it just um uh intention plus um where does that commence like when you're about to intentionally go in and and start expressing or chanting or or coming if you will truth well much of it much of it it starts with the intention uh one of the things that i've been doing uh uh is uh breathing and breathing without my voice so in other words breathing intentionally without engaging my vocal cords to do a hum and then when i actually initiate a hum intentionally and with intention and awareness initiate a hum right and then as i initiate the hum then allow that home to resonate and grow and grow and grow and it has just taken me places it's just been powerful wonderful and so it it starts with an intention the intention from intention to actually engagement when you actually initiate and say now do it and and just i would say experience that or experiment with it work with it do it and uh you know some of this we could you know somebody talked about theology systematic theology almost being like uh dissecting a frog that you can dissect all the parts and say okay so this is the leg this is the lung this is the liver but the problem that you have is because you've dissected it and pulled it apart it's no longer a frog it's no longer that it's no longer integrated it's no longer able to jump up and hop away so what are you looking at different pieces of flesh that are separated and so the holistic and what so basically what i'm saying uh is that uh acts practice with it because it it it comes like the wind it it comes and goes when it and how it wants and and it knows you very well so there will be some times where you do it without initiating but you have the intention there will be the time that you initiate and you're doing it and doing it and doing this and and the wind says i'ma wait till he gets to the 50th time and i'm going bam hit him right there and what if you're doing think about this what if you did it to about 47 and a half and then just walked away from it and saying this thing don't work i wonder if sometimes god looks at us and says that vessel don't work i need to try another vessel it go fred it goes back to what we talked about the formulas you know yeah like um that formula we were given formulas right but but another formula is the exact opposite of what we're saying you know because so it it is going with intention right now i'm gonna press through and i'm gonna i'm gonna get this vibra i feel weird i feel like all the word curses that people have i've been reading gossip about me people have been doubting me and nothing's working and i feel it i can feel it on me the intention is to get it off and so you enter in with that i need to get this off me so i'm gonna go in through tongues i'm gonna go in through the meditation right so you're entering with the intention versus on the other side you're like the opposite of that is like i'm just gonna open up god whatever you have for me you know whatever you have i'm ready to experience it so i'm open for whatever come whatever made but always preface it with that i don't like is there any spirits here that want to communicate i don't do that i say father but father if they are here lord they got to come through you whatever you have for me i'm open so if god wants me to experience it you got to come through him first you know what i'm saying so to direct my past because the path of the righteous are ordered by the lord so there's nothing that's going to approach me or or that i'm going to experience in those realms uh that's going to scare me or possess me or any of those kind of things you know so the uh both is true entering in with intention being single-minded this is the job we're going to get done we're going to get that thing off of you or hey we're going to explore together and end up finding a facet of god that we never knew existed we're able to experience his heart we've been there you know those are the best you know but both of them are are ever true yes they are i like the part that you said about uh just uh making sure that i'm i'm you know allowing and saying i'm asking the father to send everything my wife and i we have a joke of you know we love music and so bruno mars and anderson pack have a new song out called i'm gonna leave the door open beautiful song right great song romantic song it's for lovers man i'ma leave the door open so you could just come on over anytime and i said baby i don't really know if i i'm really with that song because i ain't leaving the door because anything could just come in with it what if i'll leave you i'm gonna give you the password i will give you the password and i will stay secure because everything needs to come through one door i don't need anything and everything and uh that's our joke but yeah true true indeed man you definitely uh you you you'd be surprised and i think you've got to be open that sense of awe when we say all all really is and when we think of fear and trembling that is movement uh all to the point of movement and when you have that all to the point that it emotes you it moves you then god's like i'll come in and move you i'll move you he likes to show out man you know he's a creator i mean the the revelation is so deep and we're because we're creators too who do we get it from that's right you get it from a mama like that's right i get it from my dad man he created realms of galore and angels and weird beings and essences and he wants me to to marvel he wants to show me just like just like fred just like this connection that we have about my music i don't get to talk hey man what'd you think about it bro really you notice i use that word a lot wow dude nobody else tells me about that you did god is the same way listen i've created these realms that many people are scared to venture into would you think would you think did you like it that was you blew my mind father oh my god i never knew i never knew this was a thing thank you for allowing me to experience this god is a creator and he wants he wants us to experience he wants to he wants to paint the sky he wants to he's created the mountains and creation and beauty and you know awe and wonder that is what a creator wants you to to experience it and even the the hidden stuff too yeah you know the hidden stuff everybody looks at a sky you know what i'm saying like but not everybody sees the same thing when they look at it you know people we look at clouds some people see images and clouds prophetic messages in the clouds you know and other people ah it's just a just a water vapor man stars i gaze at the star and i guarantee you i see different things and in stars and then most people you know my connection and what i've studied in in my heart and it's just amazing i love stargazing and uh but not everybody he just bypasses oh another star mixing those away yes you know well that i'd love to encourage somebody else anybody else to do probably right now that you're listening you i heard you derek talk about uh gazing at the sun uh early in the morning you know before it gets up in the noon you know but while it's down still close to that you know to to our level horizontal lines and how that just cleans i've been doing that in meditation when i was nice enough the weather's right i'll go out and i'll just take some time and just look at the sun and of course i'm starting out squinting i got squinting with eyes anyway you know so i start out squinting but before you know it long enough i get still enough like the old i think it's the asian analogy those that are in meditation i think it's a buddhist in the analogy of when they're sit in a in a bucket you know and you stir the bucket up all of the soot is surrounded but when you let that bucket set that water set all of the soot it it it calms down and goes and now you can see that water clearly in the same way just allowing just looking at that sun realizing that all life as we know it emanates from that one thing that i'm looking at and it's definitely uh everything is a portal to god yes your demons your angels your setbacks your setups your victories your failures everything your son the grass i could see him in it all and that that is a portal to the father um the bible is goes deep into the lord is a son and a shield you know and a lot of early christian mystics were sun worshipers like they really understood that without that i don't exist and it's a whether it's an analogy or it's literal you know what i'm saying like without him we don't exist without god your light and your love and your energy and your vitamins and with everything that the sun's giving us we don't exist right and uh so being able to see him in that and i'll tell you something interesting and i've mentioned this like when you're sun gazing when it gets to a certain height it's going to start to burn your retinas and it gets on here you can't gaze at it for long you know and again you know i talked about the other day the analogy of nobody can see god and live you know and even even paul was blinded by the radiance of christ and um if you look at the sun it can it can mess your eyes up you know and so um while sun gazing a lot of times and i don't do this unhealthy i guess i don't know what is actually healthy but to look at just glance at it and then close your eyes yeah and uh and you'll see a pinhole of light yes and you look for the the sizzle it's the same try to go into it try to go into the pinhole of light this ain't the same so yeah so the same thing happens in meditation anyway it's a different light that shows up right you know i always talk about this green light right comes and starts dancing and right i'm trying to go into it i'm trying to go i'm trying to make it and eventually i do and it just starts with waves and it just weighs away and waves waves and i can see the colors and i'm going into this light and then revelation and then downloads and then higher self communication and for me that's it's not instant you got to wait you got to tear it you got to go in you got to make sure you want it hold on i'm going to catch you you're going this way you're going i'm going into it so um try it with sun gazing as well and you'll be able to see it i've i've you know kind of gotten into it here lately but just trying to like i miss the sun gazing early and i'll catch it at noon and i'll just look at us i'm just going i'm just going to glance at it i need the energy i need the consciousness i'm just going to clean i look up at it i'll close my eyes listen i'll have my retinas will be burned for like a few days right out and it's weird because that that the pinhole turns into a symbol you know me remember i was talking about how like i try to analyze it and the tongues i'm trying to interpret the tongues like i'm seeing runes i look at it it's burnt every time i close my eyes wait it's like a flop it's like a fire it's a symbol it's one symbol it doesn't change it's one symbol and i've done it twice already and i don't know how healthy it is so right you know be careful interesting have you ever checked out any of the android jones stuff you know and the guy yeah it's like that's what that reminds me of is that you're right it can come and there's been times that i've been in prayer meditation and just i focus on one point and then i i intentionally propel or or ask it to propel me and then and like it goes and it goes into these different portals and ways and i think that that uh is is definitely i think android jokes just like what we talk about lyrics just when we talk about art and music it's it's a snapshot it's a hint of the divine and it's like it's a portal it's guys like yeah i'm giving you breadcrumbs like johann said earlier i'm giving breadcrumbs everywhere like man of falling everywhere folks look around and you will see him he's here he is there with you you could be looking at this youtube or this whatever discord this facebook a year from now he is there long after us he'll be here yes indeed yes indeed well listen man guys we've been on here for a while we're doing uh almost two hours and 40 minutes johan bro thanks for the for the call man and enjoyed uh and chatting with you and feel free to call in anytime you see us live i'll try to open up these phone lines and uh you know make this something uh that we do regularly so thanks for for connecting man much love johan thank you so much thank you brother fred derek man love you guys be blessed and thank you for letting me be part of the conversation hey thank you man indeed yeah hey shohan yeah um it's good stuff uh and i want i want to say this listen we've gone two hours and 40 minutes or just about but we talked about fred's music and all that kind of stuff fred's raise the money right now to uh produce this album uh he's got a huge vision it's gonna be really good and everybody has been able to benefit just from your wisdom and even pieces of your lyrics that you've shared today and i already know that it's gonna be good and uh so you raise the money you have a gofundme uh you have an easy way to get to it talk about raising the money really quick here at the end let people know we're right at we our goal is to do about six thousand dollars uh to get the music we want to get the music we want to get the production and all of that we're at about 1500 so i'm really glad about that and that's going good most folks say that they do a full gofundme that's you cap out at close to 15. and we've already passed where we would usually cap out at and we just started i haven't even talked to my you know so i got so many other friends and folks that have blessed me and been great parts of my life that they're like i want to do this and so this is i'm excited about it so uh there's ways that you can connect to it really really simple one of the most simple ways is you can go to uh sacredhum.com just the two words sacred hum sacred home.com easy way to get to it you could find it on facebook just do facebook slash sacred hum it's there you can find me on fred lynch.org my first and last name fred lynch.org and you find me there uh my i'm on ig is flinch mob so flinch mob is my old nickname flinch mob so i'm on facebook with flinch mob ig is flinch mob twitter's flinch mob and i haven't designed the uh sacred hums but i'm i'm really excited about that that's just a unique name that i was able simply to get the the url for it i got it and uh so now i'm building it all to where either it's two ways either you can purchase a pre copy or pre pre-order it or you can uh help with the go fund or you can do both to go to the gofundme i know we can double it and triple it and get to that uh amount uh tonight i'm super excited i go to the studio to do the first piece so i'm all amped up about that so it's good man yeah please go out to sacred home.com and hit us up and get to know uh get on the subscription list and uh we'll talk more about meditation and let's all just continue to build that community together uh i love what true secret what you're doing on the sunday mornings man that breath work bro that is my church right now i'm there every sunday i can i love it i think that more people are going to gravitate to that dude more people got that thing right there that's where yeah yes sir thank you man and thank you for supporting and and and uh and being a friend and everything that you do man and um make sure you guys support what fred's got going on um i start seeing him a lot more so with that being said man thanks fred for coming on bro i know we can keep you going and i want to but we got stuff to do yeah we got stuff to do i got stuffed i got i got people waiting on me you're still podcasting yes we're podcasting i'll be there in a minute don't worry right right my wife won't know me i want to make 31. i got to go hang out for sure all right dude you guys like them i love them so make sure you check it out yep thanks for for watching everybody um there's a question here someone someone says that i look like aquaman i'm a water disc band like aquaman hey thank you for that thank you he's a he's a really good looking guy um because people people uh call me out my name a lot you know and i do get aquaman it's funny um i get aquaman a lot um when we're when we're in florida for some reason at the um water parks and stuff a lot of young kids ask me am i am i to really think i'm aquaman and there's no way i'm like i look like if he started just eating cheeseburgers and gave up on himself right then i look like that aquaman um but i like that better than getting the other stuff uh which is usually post malone it's post malone or aquaman hey you look familiar it's like which one is there like post malone man what's up post malone what's post malone doing on the podcast what's post malone doing here and then uh yesterday on on my uh on a video somebody said what's masvidal doing rappin they said i look like mazvidal which is jorge masvidal uh who is the ufc fighter and i don't i don't see it maybe i don't know i said does he have dreadlocks no other people say you like a member of corn i get that a lot you look like a member of corn so uh you know i like that better than the post malone i don't like the post malone one i don't feel like i look like them and that's a scruffy part i i don't know but um yeah so thanks for hanging out guys we're going to keep opening up the phone lines and um it makes it fun man like to connect with people and just you know giving you guys a voice and letting you guys call and pick our brains and ask questions you know why because um i used to do it i used to do it like i used to just i mean when i was going through my spiritual awakening i stayed on podcast not as a guest but as a listener and then eventually people would people i'd call in with a question and then i would start like teaching and sharing experiences and stuff and i was just really looking for for uh people who have had ex similar experiences and i've uh i would call in the podcast and they put me on and i'd be hey asking them these questions and we had beautiful conversations and or there was ufos or meditations or whatever the stuff i was into i would find those live streams and call in and so i want to you know be what i needed when i was going through my awakening that's all this is like you know fred again asked me why do i do it listen at this point i'm being what i needed when i was going through spiritual awakening and thought i was going crazy and i'm seeing ufos and hearing voices and seeing shadows and synchronicities are lining up and i'll say a phrase and it says it on the radio then a truck drives by by with the same phrase on side of the billboard of the truck and just crazy stuff when this stuff started becoming real i needed somebody to talk to and so i would call into all these these shows and just ask questions and i genuinely wanted to know listen to coast to coast am and listen i genuinely want to talk to you and a lot of these people were big name people or so i thought and they seem unreachable unless you called into coast to coast but good luck calling in the coast to coast you'll never get through it the people would stay on the phone for hours trying to talk to somebody um so i just wanted to pay that forward you know and you know be what i needed be that version of myself for what i was looking for so that's why this podcast exists and that's why i would like to open up the phone lines for anybody to ask questions or just somebody to say hello or but uh the fear is what you know it always happens in part of the karma without somebody screening the calls maybe we'll talk about having a call screener soon um there's some it costs money to get a call screener or even pay for the service whether it's just people just jumping on the air um there it's about a hundred dollars a month to to do a two-hour show to have that just throwing that out there um but people calling us are screaming people call in and start cursing and some of the earlier episodes we've done where we that's what we were we were a call in show and just had some really good conversations connecting with people who would not normally connect i didn't plan on having a lot of guests people would call in and and they call in every week you know and they they became like revolving members of the round table in a sense and so i want to go back to that again like people are going to be calling cursing screaming this is part of it but um hey i used to do it and i remember being live and hey i can't take it personal i can't take it personal because i used to do it yes i used to call in and prank radio shows when i was a kid i would i love the prank call uh every now and then if you catch me in the on the right in the right mood maybe i'll do a prank call and i haven't done it in a very long time but i i like i like to make people laugh i like to mess with people and so i used to do that as a kid and so it's funny that i did that now i'm older and i have my own show and people call in to this show and prank me and not say prank they just curse like it's kind of it's not really smart it's not really tactful you know but uh but i did it and it's called karma and so i create a show and kids call in and prank me so anyway phone lines will be open i want to i'm going to keep this going it's a lot of work so make sure you guys take advantage of it i want to hear your voice man love you guys with that i'ma say peace and shalom we'll do it very soon make sure you guys sign up man for the mystic circle start your seven day trial
